Okay, I should generalise. Not *all* hip-hop is bad. For example, I've always loved this song, which is pretty much free from objectification.
Oh, and don't read the subtitles of that other version that were supplied back when MTV was only available in English, as they're wrong. Seriously, in the whole song there's no mention of "doing the nasty", yet MTV's translation had that line there. Here's a better translation, instead, despite the lack of punctuation. (Please note that "to let the corks pop" is a literal translation from "Korken knallen lassen". In German this means just that: To open Champagne by letting the cork "pop". Nothing about "doing the nasty" implied there, not even today. It's a metaphor for celebrating greatly in general.) The song even got good singing and a tune you remember. Now, that is nice music. But nooo, everyone has to be a Gangsterrapper these days. -

If it makes anyone feel better, I like bad pop music from the nineties.

In other news, I really hate tailgaters. I drive the speed limit, and they feel the need to pass me. If they get caught, it's a hundred bucks, but if I get caught speeding, I get a point against my permit. |

Yup, that was my point. Seriously, some kid who can't even grow a beard yet, from some cow-town in the middle of Bavaria is *NOT* Gangsta, no matter how many hoodies and caps he wears, or how many T-shirts that look more like very badly cut nightgowns hw owns. Yes, those towns can be deadly as the Ghetto...but really, death by boredom a Gangsta does not make. Yes, even in Germany there's some pretty dangerous areas. Urban areas, usually with old, low cost apartments can be quite dangerous, and the kids are not very good off. There's crime there, and violence. But it's not yet open war on the streets, complete with gunfights, though I wouldn't walk through there at night either, for fear of being attacked. So you like Hip-hop? Okay. You may rap, but be original. If one can't tell apart your work from all the other stuff out there, it's not good - neither for the listenener, nor for yourself. I mean, you want to be recognised, right? Well, be original then. -

Pathetic. I bet those kids don't even drive black cars or carry submachine guns.

You're probably right about that, considering most of them aren't even 18, and thus won't even have a driver's license. (And they're not Gangsta enough to drive around without it. ). Also, same reason why they won't be having *any* type of gun. Too young (also, they'd be arrested pretty quickly if they ran around with it. The public is not allowed to carry weapons around in Germany, like they would in the US. And most people who have guns use them only at shooting ranges at gun sport clubs - they just enjoy the shooting as a sport, they don't use them for anything else. Except those that actually go hunting in the forests. You need a license for that too, though.) -

Seriously? Damn. You're like, communists.
Of course, United States midwesterners are notoriously fond of guns, so my kin may be the exceptions. |

Okay, enough of that. Time to leave the Thread™ in peace, guys.
R.I.P. Thread™. We had our fun, and life we led, but I took my gun, and now you're dead. |

How can I be dead if you took your gun away?
