Ah. You're thinking about Peter Parker. I think he's American, though.

Hehe.
For anyone who isn't familiar with "The real spider-man", he's Alain Robert. Last edited by Giligan; 06-07-2008 at 12:07 PM. |

A quote from his home page: " Climbing is my passion, my philosophy of life. Although I suffer from vertigo, although my accidents left me disabled up to 60%, I have become the best solo climber."
While it is impressive, you probably have to be a bit mad for that kind of thing.

More than a bit mad, really. One slip - and he's come close a few times, if his Wikipedia article is any indication - and you're roadkill. It just isn't worth the risk.

What, do you think there's something wrong with me hating watching videos over the internet?

There is no wrong, but every thing is right.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that--I'm not crazy about it, either.
That Mr. Lacey seems obsessed with punctuation as the primary means of expression. Do you suppose that I can add silver glitter to pale pink wall paint? I don't see why not, but I'm not exactly Bob the Builder (we're in the process of redecorating Gracie's room). |

All that glitters is not gold.

Of course you can! I assume your Gracie is a "princess" just as my now teenage girl used to be. (She used to change clothes (dresses) four to five times a day and complained that I never had lipstick.) But you have to be prepared do re-do it in a few years though.

Thanks, Jelena. Yes, it's all mermaid princesses, pink dresses, hearts, flowers, and fingernail polish for now. She looks like an iced cake. But she still howls at the moon, so at least there's something of me in her that I recognize.

When I was little, my favourite colour was yellow. I was doomed from the start to be androgynous.

Squinks, I was never a girly-girl when I was little. And pink was definitely not a favourite colour of mine. That's why it was fascinating to see my little girl grow up to be very feminine. I almost couldn't relate to it.

Exactly. When I was pregnant and knew I was having a little girl, I told everyone who was likely to buy a gift to please avoid pink. But Gracie loves it anyway. I guess I'm a girly-girl, although not the pink variety. When I was small, my favorite princess was Lloyd Alexander's Eilonwy. She was prickly and independent and had a smart mouth, so I loved her. Gracie's much sweeter than I was, or am.

Girly-girls are annoying. Actually, so are men who lean as far as possible into the male ditch. Can't we all just be "guys"?
