Presuming it's Klingon, glottal stops are the order of the day. Hang on, I've got a "Teach Yourself Business Klingon" tape around here somewhere.

Basically the break between two consecutive vowel sounds. Commonly used by people who are incapable of pronouncing consonants mid-word, though it does also come into play for the rest of us . Often problematic for singers...

But as the current generation game consoles are called "next gen", wouldn't it be suitable for us, the current generation game players, to call ourselves the next generation? That way we can uphold our proud traditions on our own.

So it's just a pause, then? What's the big deal about it?

Oh, and why is that problematic for singers? (Hums some Bach (I think it's Bach): A-a-a-a-a-a-alles was O-o-o-o-o-o-odem hat… Lots of small pauses between the vowels there.)

Don't worry, I'll prevent that from happening. He's a good boy. Also, he still owes me for making me play Yu-Gi-Oh with him without even explaining the rules to me.

Yeah, but you have to plan for the future. I mean, *I* don't really have to, since I'm a woman who usually live longer. But if I were in your place, I'd start planning for the future before it's too late, my good male.

Also used quite a lot in Arabic.

It's problematic when people start putting them in.

Take the Latin word Kyrie. Three syllables, and singers just love to sling a "y" sound in between the second and third ones (so that it sounds as "kee-ree-Yae" rather than "kee-ree-ae").

Why not pronounce it "kai-ree"?

I still don't understand, I'm afraid. I guess this is something that's not easy to explain in writing.

Maybe I'll make a sound recording to explain it at some point. Depends on how busy I am.

I remember when I actually had to sing that. Gospel is so much better.
