Maybe the fact that there are no beavers native to Venezuela.

Also there's the thrill of wheter or not you are going to contract Beaver Fever.

I don't think there's any risk of me contracting beaver fever.

I'm starting to suspect that Squinky may be making a game.

Only starting to suspect?

P.S. I'm starting to suspect that "J'adore faire l'amour" is bad French. In fact, I'm almost certain of it.

Yeah, I don't really pay much attention to what's going on, but something tells me these architectural articles this Deirdre bird is writing, may have something to do with a game.

I don't know about the French, I copied it from a t-shirt. The phrase popped up a few times when I googled it, so that's good enough for me. After all, we are talking about a dead language here.

Deirdre? Do you mean Squinky? Because I'm pretty sure she's called "Deirdra", unless she doesn't know how to spell her own name.

In British English we only have Deirdres.

Like Dear Deirdre, the trashy agony aunt in Britain's favourite tabloid, The Sun.

You know, that is just so… seventies? These days there are better options for that kind of thing.

Of course not, that would have been a misnomer.

Well, "making love" is an idiom that I believe is unique to the English language. In French, it sounds as though you're trying to Build Your Own Love™ or something unintentionally silly like that.

I dunno. Are there any native French speakers around, or have they all died?

I spell my name as it appears on my birth certificate. Hence, any mistake therein should be blamed on my parents, not me.

That said, "Deirdra" does indeed appear to be a valid alternate spelling of the name, according to Google.
