Jatsie, they're using "button" in the way that us British people would use the word "badge". You know, as in one of those plastic things with a pin stuck onto the back.
You and I know that buttons are the things that you find on the front of formal shirts, and that they have to be sown on, but let's humour them . |

Oh, a badge, thanks for the clarification.
I can't really think of many uses for a badge, your desire to keep it with the other items seems more understandable now. You Yankees really need to start speaking plain English.

I noticed a political tone to that badge in the link that Melsie provided. In Britain we prefer a rosette for such things.
