VBL is a man thing so I just can't tell you about it.

Karmillo had a frowny smiley that didn't parse correctly (note to people that are typing smileys. Don't use capitals.) Having fixed his post it only seemed fair to fix your quote of it as well. Nothing to worry about.

Well, obviously we mods have our guilt reflexes surgically removed so we can be mean to people and not worry about it.

This is not true. Mods are people too. I feel a poem coming on.

You'd have to try hard to get me properly mad at you (and then even harder to keep me that way. Generally I find staying mad at anyone requires too much effort to be worthwhile)

Just stop trying to find out about bloke-only stuff OK?

OK. Who talked? What happened to all men keeping the secret together?

They say we mods lack feelings,
But they are just plain wrong.
We often feel so sensitive
That we burst out in song!

Hmph. Girls, let's go hide in our "No Boys Allowed" clubhouse and talk about periods and stuff.

I'm not telling.

So now you'll have to let me in on your discussions of military vehicles.

And I'm glad you're not mad at me. *hugs*

Fine.

About the only thing the Germans have going for them is the Leopard 2. And the British also only have the Chieftain for their claim to fame. Personally, their lighter vehicles are utter rubbish. The Germans have Kubelwagon dopplegangers and the British have Land Rovers with armor. I'm not sure if it's changed since '99, but it probably hasn't.

We aren't a whole lot better, first with the MUTT, then the HMMVW, but the Force Industries, Inc. Cougar has the power to once again put our name at the top. The M1 Abrams is a fine tank - it could be said there's no better - but tanks make up a small fraction of an army's vehicle resources.

Now the Russians, there's where it's at. They've got the T-90, the ZIL-131, and most of all, they've got the Mil-28 and the Kamovs. Compared to them, the AH-64 and the cheap German and British civilian helicopter converts (Bo-105, anyone?) look like utter junk. The only nation with an AH almost as good is the South Africans, they've got that big, nasty looking chopper down there... Cicada or something, big nasty brute. Too bad they only built 20something of them.

Wow, that's interesting.

Want to hear something about medieval archery?

Oh, and a funny fact is that there's one barrack in Germany where there have been several cases in which locals have kidnapped one of the training tanks and took them on a ride through the area? Nobody got hurt or anything, but several car drivers got a little bit of a shock when suddenly a tank was coming their way on the street.

Jazzy, dear, you don't kidnap a tank. You hijack or steal it.

Couldn't you hold a tank to ransom? Send pictures of it with today's newspapers stuck to the guns, that sort of thing.

Not even if someone is very attached to the tank, considering it their "Baby"? No?

Oh well, I guess it's hijack then.

Well, sure. Tanks are loved. You can't steal a peice of machinery that big without pissing some grease monkey or crewman off. It's, like, crossing the line, dawg.

Well, they didn't *steal* it really. They just borrowed it for a ride. And then left it standing somewhere on the street once they ran out of fuel.

And it happened a few times, apparently. It's really rather silly. It's just hilarious that no one noticed earlier that suddenly several tons of mobile steel are missing. They didn't have any shells, of course. Or it would no longer be funny.

I don't know... the youth of today finding wanton theft and needless criminal activity amusing...
