I have a great soundtrack for The Thread™:
...Against the Dying of the Light by Cantus. It's great music (Veljo Tormis! Carl Orff! Samuel Barber!), well sung by a small choir, and the lyrics are about death.

Try Sprite with orange instead. Or preferably grape. (Sprite mixed with Fanta is what I usually drink when I buy a hamburger.)
