But that's something good! I personally couldn't stand a guy who does things like bragging about one-night stands. I'm a woman, and I am not particularly interested in make up, clothes and shoes shopping and the like. -

It's quite good to be honest, I don't have to associate with people I hate... and because if I receive some particularly bad treatment, quite a few girls think I'm cute (in the "aaww!" way, not the American "he's, like, so cute" sort of way) and will jump to my defense... which is always good

The fact that it is women who are stereotyped as having clothes/shoes/makeup as a primary interest (in other words, placing "looking good" as a high priority in their lives) as opposed to men, only serves to reinforce the notion that the function of women in society is to act as objects for men to look at. A very crude and simplistic way of putting things, yes, but that's the essence of it.

Seems that many of the men in this thread are obsessed with their appearance more than the chicks... Trep and Jat on one side, Robert obsessed with his self-percieved ugliness on the other, and as for step and that shirt...

What I do do, though, is to refuse to accept the suggestion that I'm not ugly. That I have an obsession with. Because I like people to be honest. |

Then sorry, I'm afraid I can't refer to you as ugly. I don't believe in telling people lies just so that they can revel in the satisfaction of being right.

Perhaps you subconsciously worry. Which wouldn't be a good idea.
