Doh!
I'm trying to get my boyfriend Nick Cave tickets for his 25th Birthday, and intended to keep it a huge secret. However, talking to him today on the phone, I let slip that his B'day present was going to be something wonderful and unexpected. Of course, this sparked his curiousity, and he embarked on a quest to find out what his present could be... I tried to be as elusive as possible, but eventually let slip it was an experience involving people/a person he knew of and owned something linking to them. He figured it would be a concert, and his third guess (1st 2 were Bill Bailey and The Cure) was correct, so I was forced to say yes. He seemed delighted though, but I really wish I hadn't said anything, I feel like I've spoilt it now....

I don't thinked you've spoiled anything. The fact you took the trouble to get those tickets will mean a lot to him. Surprises can be difficult - making sure the person is where they are supposed to be, etc.

As someone who's seen both Nick Cave as The Cure perform live I can tell you that you haven't spoiled anything.
Great concerts are something you always look forward to well in advance... So it just means that he now knows what to look forward to... And what better way to look forward to a concert than knowing it's a gift from a very special someone. And having the pleasure of going to enjoy the concert with the one you love... Have fun you two! (I know you will)

aww, thanks guys, that makes me feel alot better about it! And our meal out on our anniversary next month will be a nice surprise for him. (and I might be able to think up some other surprises too, but Bangor has limited activities for those without transport.)

Your present should have been to stick a six inch gold blade in him for liking post-The Immaculate Consumptive Nick Cave...
