Today the systemadministrators at my work decided to use websense for all internet traffic of all employees. Unfortunately the category "games" is blocked aswell! Thankfully, adventuregamers.com is still available, but for how long?
Sites like gametz, mobygames, fourfatchicks, gameboomers, justadventure all result in the following message:

Toegang naar deze web pagina is op dit moment niet toegestaan.
(Dutch for "access to this page is not allowed at this moment")

Reason:
The Websense category "Games" is filtered.

Yes, I know. My work uses Websense too, and like you said, adventuregamers is one of the only unblocked games-related sites there is.

Yeah, I always thought that the general idea with a job is to work, and not do everything else. But hey, maybe I'm wrong.

Some of us have jobs that give us long periods of free time. For example, I work here: http://dougtabacco.com/album/photo.p...arent=20&pos=0 for up to 6-7 hours at a time with very little actual work to be done. And believe me, during those times stuff like the internet or the upper-right monitor (which I believe is the episode of the Simpsons where bart and milhouse run the Android's Dungeon comic book shop) becomes pretty damn important. Sitting for a whole shift with absolutely nothing to do is not fun. Once or twice at Disneyland I got stuck guarding some deserted walkway during a special event for 8 hours, and trust me... a full shift with absolutely nothing to do but stand/sit there (Disney didn't allow us to sit down in public view unless absolutely neccesary) really sucks.

For me the problem is solved, I found:

A cgi-bin perl script you can run on a server, which enables you to visit all pages that are blocked.

A nice tool is http://www.xav.com/cgi-sys/cgiwrap/x...cgi?p=cgiproxy
which will install the script for you! it is soo easy!

For people without a server, you can use:

However, here you cannot login nor post on forums, but at least you can see the pages.

I tried all those ways and they all poop up as saying proxy avoidance can ne one help me i am so bored at work with no games or movies work actually sucks and for some looking for games try www.miniclip.com it works on mine so it might work on yours

You guys could go looking for another job and kill two birds with one stone,
because either you will get a workplace where people actually work which will make you forget about surfing the net during working hours or you may be lucky and get a websenseless workplace and continue your favourite leisure at work.

i am a highschool senior and i understand how you guys feel about websense but i think it sucks more on this end bc what are you supposed to do when you have nothing to do in a class that allows you to play online and everytime you try to go to anything its always blocked and they watch it so carefully that everytime you get into something once the next time you cant get into it, i tried the proxys but none of them work and the ones i can get into they dont run right so please if someone could help me out [email protected]
