I do not play any games these days Emily...I read. Reading is good for the soul. Playing the lousy crop of today's games is a mind-killer....Now if Tim Schaffer would ever ship his new game, I'd play that, and I'd play any adventure game that you can recommend for PC....ideas??? What do you think I might like? I am very jaded...sorry.

Not many really great AGs these days, but The Moment of Silence is certainly a solid choice. It's no revolution, but good at what it does.

Okay then, what was the last book you read and really enjoyed?

I haven't played Moment of Silence but from everything I've heard it seems like the best adventure to come out recently. I also really enjoyed Shadow of Destiny, which has been out for a few years... it was kind of a sleeper hit, with really unique way of handling plot.

Thanks for the recommendation. I will check out Moment of Silence one of these days...

The last book I read that I really enjoyed was A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway....But now I'm reading Beyond Belief by Elaine Pagels, which is a fascinating book about the lost gospels of Thomas. Great stuff.

Actually, what got me into the industry was FlightSims. Unfortunately, I have not been playing very many games lately.

Yeah, "progressive" isn't something that gets used too often in the same sentence as "adventure" much anymore. Or games in general, even.

But for some older, offbeat stuff that you might have missed, you should try scrounging up The Dark Eye (based on 3 of Poe's stories), and Bad Day on the Midway, by the Residents. Both are more "experience" than traditional "game", but I think of them with the same quirky affection I do Mojo.

Speaking of which, both could REALLY stand a re-release themselves... Hey, Got Game!

Hmmm.. the Dark Eye. That was pretty good. Now you've got me thinking - where did I put that.

Bad Day on the Midway is an awesome experience (not so much of a game) whose art was done by the late great Jim Ludtke. Rest in peace Jim. We miss you down here. In many ways Jim's style and tone influenced us too. And he was a great guy. Remember Freak Show? Jim Ludtke did that one too.
