Default The Amulet of Monkey Island

Hello, adventure gamers!

Metamorfo Entertainment is developing his more ambitious project, called THE AMULET OF MONKEY ISLAND (El Amuleto de Monkey Island) to "practice" for his future projects (original ideas).
It will be a multilingual game, a "serious" continuation that promises to finish of once the saga, clarifying all the situations that remained incomplete, and revealing finally OUR real secret of Monkey Island.

Please take a look!:

http://www.metamorfo.cjb.com/ Our website
http://usuarios.lycos.es/metamorfoe/phpBB2/index.php/ Our forums

Some conceptual art:

In-game Screenshot:

- High quality tracks of music and ambientation in audio format in every scene
- "Cartoon" backgrounds totally interactives.
- 3D animations like Runaway.
- Interface Poin't and Click, without verbs.
- Fully animated cutscenes.
- A future talkie-version.
- AND A LOT OF REGGAE!

PD: You can see the same post in the AGS forums. This isn't SPAM, if you if you thought that.

I'm pretty sure LucasArts has shut down most Monkey Island fan games. You might want to take that into account before you devote too much time to this project.

And while I generally dislike fan made sequels, that artwork is beautiful. I am definitely interested. Keep up the good work, with this and/or your mentioned future project.

And why not Indiana Jones fan games? (www.barnettcollege.com)

I hope that it does not happen thus!

I've checked your website and I'm absolutely stunned by the artwork! It looks beautiful and shows an original drawing style that perfectly fits in the world of Monkey Island. Keep up the good work and good luck!

P. S. At first sight I thought the game is being developed using AGS and I became even more excited. But then I found out you're using Wintermute. This might minimize the chances of cross-plattform-support. How are the chances of a Mac and/or Linux port?

Not trying to get any AGS lovers mad at me, I like it myself, but AGS is rather slow in high-res, so this game wouldn't be well suited for it.

You're absolutely right. It's just a bit disappointing for us Mac and Linux users because we'll most likely not see this game ported to our platforms due to Wintermute's DirectX-orientation.

I'm not a programmer but every now and then friends of mine who work in software companies moan about the pain of DirectX/OpenGL conversion.

Will there be voices in this project?

Hi folks!
I carry some news and images about the project.

First, take a look at the new Guybrush Threepwood, in 3D!

And some conceptual art:

I have to say that the demo is very near, and it'll be in english too!
Maybe the voices will be added later in the english version. In spanish version, the voices appear only in the cinematics.

Also I comment that we are looking desperately for a drawer for the backgrounds, so if there is some interested, not dude in contact us.

I wait for your opinions!

Thanks!
The Metamorfo Entertainment Team.

If I remember it has been reported that you can actually play Wintermute games on Linux, if you use a Windows emulator.

Damnit, this is some fine artwork! I just wish it was being used in something original, that was rather just inspired by Monkey Island.

Best of luck, though!

Hey,

Have you any room on your team for a new member? I'd love to help out with this game in it's development. I'm a very good graphic designer, I could host & make your website & create some decent PHP forums. I also do Art.

Keep up the great work, Guy Brush looks fnatastic in 3D.

Is it just me or does guybrush remind you of Christopher Walken?

I love how youve rendered the models, great looking style
