I'll definitely be downloading that.

Now, what's the story behind the name Epileptic Fish?

There are many that are well worth playing, but I can only think of three that you have to play:

King's Quest II: Romancing the Stones (KQ2VGA+)
5 Days a Stranger (5DAS)
Ben Jordan: Paranormal Investigator Case 3 - The Sorceress of Smailholm (BJ3)

Do also check out Quest For Glory 4 1/2 (QFG 4.5), Two of a Kind, and Out of Order. Personally, I don't think Pleurghburgh or the Apprentice games are unmissable, although they're all quite decent.

Yes, Ben Jordan 3 was my favorite of the four as well.

As for the name Epileptic Fish, to tell you the truth, I can't remember where it came from. Two of a Kind was originally created for a contest on the AGS Forums, and 90% of the work on it was done within one month. Epileptic Fish was the name of our team when we were in the contest, though I can't for the life of me remember why, haha.

My 5 faves are: (well, more than 5 if you want to be pedantic)

5 days and 7 days
Cirque de Zale
Odysseus Kent
Apprentice series
Ben Jordan series

<shameless plug> And I'll second that Valis demo vote </end of shameless plug>

5 Days and 7 Days are two fantastic games.

To my mind they are the current pinnacle of good storytelling using the AGS system, given Yahtzee's excellent character work. Sure 7 Days has a few issues, but it's still head and shoulders above most games.

I'll second the Ben Jordan 3 mention. The whole series is extremely good and keeps getting better, but BJ3 was just something incredibly eerie and special. So far the de facto BJ game, in my opinion.

Pleurghburg (sp, oh the sp) is another excellent AGS game, though it does seem to go a bit pear-shaped by the time the ending's rolled around.

Two of a Kind has amazing production values and was a pretty good little game, though a couple of issues keep it from top o' the heap in my books.

Those are the five titles I'd immediately recommend to anybody interested in AGS games, and in appropriate order. If anybody asks, "Can I do something decent with this program?", I think 5 Days A Stranger gives all the answer that's needed, truth be told.

Out of Order and 5 Days tie as the best Amateur games currently out there, with KQ2VGA+ coming a close second.

Since I'm a Mac user I'm pretty new to indie adventures and just started to explore the world of AGS games.

I guess I'm going to play:

Apprentice I and II
King's Quest II VGA
5 + 7 Days
Norman Cooks

as soon as I have finished Syberia II and Still Life on Xbox.

I will definitely play Rise Of The Hidden Sun and Star Wars Shadows Of The Empire when they're out. Both look gorgeous.
