Five magical amulets released
We are happy to announce that a new adventure game Five magical amulets is available for download at http://offstudio.fabry.cz (142 MB).
It's a fairy tale game in the style of King's Quests or Kyrandia with hand-drawn graphics. The game tells a story of a young girl Linda, as she travels through the magical land of Nyron where she is eventually bound to fight an evil which threatens to destroy the whole world. Together with Linda the player will visit about seventy locations divided into four chapters, and they will meet about fifty game characters. |

Umm...Could you maybe compress the file in a *.zip file or something?
My Internet is fast - 24 MB/s, and it still says that this download will take 12 hours (!). The *.exe file like this is just too big. -

Although it's an .exe, it's a compressed archive already, sorry. The game just IS that big and we already compressed everything where possible... just don't give up - or go to Czechia and buy the newest release of the LEVEL magazine.

This looks great... I'll be downloading it with GetRight, in case something goes wrong and it has to stop. It'll still take awhile, but I'm patient. I'd just hate to have to restart all over again.

Speaking as someone who got in on this project at a late stage (and thus got to beta test a late production English version) I can say it's well worth the download time. Wasn't this bad when I downloaded my test copy so hopefully it's just a server glitch/over popularity. Persevere.

Has anyone played it yet?
So far I like it very much, alone the amount of locations and different characters is very impressive for an indie game, the story is really interesting and the soundtrack outstanding. I think fans of Kings Quest and similar games should not hesitate to download it, you won't be dissapointed :-) |

Just wanted to say that I decided to give this game a try, and so far, I'm having fun with it. I can see the King's Quest inspiration too. I don't want to be the first one to point out something negative with it (at least IMO) but the only thing I didn't like so far was the (spoiler):
Spoiler: Also: Spoiler: Anyway, don't misunderstand. After the aforementioned puzzle part, the game once again became enjoyable. I really hope this doesn't come off as some horrible criticism on the author. Not at all. I understand that this was a labor of love, and there are a lot of beautiful things in the game. And yes, the music is quite soothing. But right now I'm off to continue the adventure. Last edited by Kazmodan; 03-23-2005 at 10:11 AM. |
