Progress Report: Rise of the Hidden Sun - Work begins on Act II!
Hey everyone,
Chapter 11 Studios' collaborative Wild West adventure game project, Rise of the Hidden Sun, is making progress! We've just begun serious work on background art for Act II (of IV). Meanwhile, animation and programming are underway for Act I, part of which will eventually become the game's demo. Here's a screen shot from Act II, which begins in a dusty old desert town called Old Sierra in the Wild West. Our main musical theme is also complete. This is the overture that plays during the 'Start Game' menu screen, plus when the credits roll at the end. There are also hints of it throughout the in-game music during certain sequences. You can download it here and play it with WinAmp: http://www.cellarofrats.com/music.html To follow our progress, visit our news page: http://www.chapter11studios.com/newsupdates.htm Hope you all enjoy playing it as much as we're enjoying making it! -Josh |

Hey! Good to know that the project is going nicely!
Just listened to the main theme. Seems good! Can't wait for the demo to come! Btw.. Are you making your own font? Please don't use the default one.. That was all

Nice to see that the project is making progress! I've been following this game for a while, and it looks good!
Can't wait for the demo, either.

The more I see, hear and read about this game, the more I anticipate its release! Keep up the good work at Chapter 11 Studios! :-)
Any estimate on next Adventure Architect btw?

Looks excellent!
What resolution will the game run in? What development tool is your team using? AGS? Wintermute? Sludge? |

A search for a crazy man!

AGS. It's the game whose production is described in the Adventure Architect column on AG Underground.

The background art looks amazing. Was it all 2d painted or did you guys use a 3d modeller as well?

Well, regardless of how it was made, it's fantastic and keep up the good work.
I am currently trying to mimic Benoit Sokal's work in my new project, not much luck though, hopefully it will get better with practice. |

I just got around to listening to the two music clips, and can I just say WOW. I love the Symphony of the Bullet -- it has a real epic feel to it. And the act 1 theme is a pretty good piece of mood music too. You guys are doing awesome and I'm so looking forward to this game!
