Shall We Make A Game?

I've started a project using Adventure Game Studio called "Shall We Make A Game?" It's a community that offers people the ability to make video games without any technical knowledge. The premise is simple: Users collaborate and submit ideas in the forums. The best ones are voted on and then everyone helps turn them into real content. I import the assets, do all the scripting, and handle all the grunt work while the community focuses on producing pure content: characters, story, setting, etc.

In effect, I'm trying to distill the fun aspects of game development out from the drudgery in hopes of attracting new creativity. That doesn't mean it's just for amateurs, though! Anyone can join. It's totally open to the public and if you have a good idea, it WILL go in the game. Period. Our first game is a retro adventure game, which I've chosen for its simplicity and ease of creation.

Whether you've never worked on a game, or a veteran who needs to blow off steam, I suggest you check it out. It's very young at the moment, so there are only a few members at present.

Neat idea — I'm very interested in seeing how it comes along.

So... you can give people with no prior knowledge of how to make a computer game the means, or point in the right direction, of creating a high resolution game?

Yeah, with Adventure Game studio - it supports up to 1280x1024. I simply chose low-res to keep things easy, and since many people on the internet love making sprites.
