Bigbluecup down?

OK, I missed the thread where people talk about why www.bigbluecup.com is down, so tell me where it is. :D

Dale Baldwin 02-08-2007 06:28 AM

It's working just fine for me now.

SSH 02-08-2007 08:48 AM

It's been up all day AFAIK.

AGA 02-08-2007 09:34 AM

We were having some spam-hijacking problems earlier in the day, which caused performance issues. Could have been that.

This Is Only A Test 02-08-2007 10:43 AM

I had been to AGS over the weekend and while the main page was OK, the game page seemed borked. But both are working fine now. :)

Wormsie 02-08-2007 01:02 PM

Hmm, I still can't connect. This is rare and strange. "Server not found", it says.

Melanie68 02-08-2007 03:02 PM

Clear your cache and see if that helps.

AGA 02-08-2007 05:07 PM

Try http://new.bigbluecup.com perhaps.

Well, it works for me!

Perhaps, by deleting some cookies including temp files within "Internet Options" should do the trick!

Nope, when a browser can't connect to a server, no amount of deleting cookies will help unfortunately.

The Big Blue Cup should be down more often. Then maybe people like this:

I agree.

Me too.

Join the Wintermute Army!

Engine wars eh? Heh. Well... my advice to all: try Wintermute, try Torque, try Lassie, try GameMaker. Hell, learn C++, try Ogre, IrrLicht, CrystalSpace etc. Use what works for you, and allows your creative energy to flow freely. It's not about how you do it, but rather the end result. And don't get religous about it either... there's always something better around the corner. ( Space reserved for "mind is like a parachute" cliche' )

Or make games with AGS. Just don't forget that there's a whole world outside your engine of choice. I don't really have anything against AGS, only that "one true path of AGS-ity" mentality. I don't know if SSH was joking or not when he posted that bit I quoted, but I've seen that attitude too many times before. That makes me sad. I don't want an engine war - quite the opposite!

That's what I myself try to do. :)

He was. SSH is a rational adult, not some kind of idiot zealot :p

Squinky 02-11-2007 01:34 PM

Hey, it's definitely possible to be both!
