Underground Scenes of the Week - 30 April 2007
This game is the first in the series, and apparently Mordalles' first released game. And it's a very promising start for the creator who would go on to make Duty and Beyond (which took the gameplay and puzzle prizes at the 2006 AGS Awards) and Hallway of Adventures. The game can be a bit tricky to track down these days. I think I got it off this Czech site (click the zip link on the bottom right).

This is a short little gem made quite a long time ago by a guy who's become somewhat of an internet celebrity. Good times.

Good grief! That's an old one! I also remember Neil's SCIFI adventure about a drunk captain and his crewman who crash-land and die on a strange planet, and then become transparent entities. Or something. It was very cool. Loved the music, especially.

Now, I'm generally a patient man, but there are a few Underground games that have been ongoing for so long now that there's a whiff of Duke Nukem Forever about them. I don't really mind except when they look like they're going to be great. And this game, originally set to be released back in early 2004, is definitely one of them. It has been in "alpha" for coming up on one year now, so can we dare to hope for a release while we are still young? Call me an optimist or a fool, but I'm still eagerly awaiting QFG2VGA.
