Default Underground Scene of the Day - Monday 29 January 2007

Usually considered the first AGS game, this oldie gives an idea of how far the scene has come in just a few years. No, I've never played it, but the walkthrough is about 4 points long.

Wow, check out those funky retro graphics. The scene has come a long way since those days.

I will have to download and play this game now. Fortunately it sounds like it won't take too long.

Unfortunately, the AGS Games db download link is broken, but you can get it from http://aafiles.bicycle-for-slugs.org...Lassi%20Quest/

You may need to use Dosbox to run some of the oldest AGS games under XP...

That was definitely some sort of experience.

A plot that made no sense at all I was hoping the readme might enlighten me on that but that just told me it's a rerere release. The room transitions were a bit funky with the main character floating aimlessly and then popping into the right place, The graphics shown above are a typical example of the content and I'm not quite sure about the audio and the scoring system.

Interesting for what it represented though. The fact that you could get all those things done using a freeware application is just a reminder of how lucky we are that such people as Chris Jones exist to give creative people the tools they need to make something different and new.
