Wow, that's so... pointless?

But good luck with the project, I guess.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

I dunno, I think it might be quite cool.

Good luck to them for sure. It's just a nice alternative, because some people might have been put off the game, because of the 3D UI and such.

Taking the game back to it's traditional roots isn't so bad, especially since the latest installment is going that route once again.

I wanted to see this done, but didn't think anyone would do it. I wonder how they'll handle the action sequences.

It's probably just going to be reused StS2 stuff. I would check the demo out but they have hosted it on rapidshare

And let me add that Simon 3d's 3d graphics were pretty much sh*te... They should have gone 2d from the beginning.

Oh, and apparently this isn't a "demo" but more of a teaser, featuring the openig animation of Simon 3d in 2d. Brilliant artwork and good voices throughout.

Let's just hope they finish the project... And that they provide with a nice english version too.

I think the original Simon 3D game is still available for sale from the Adventure Soft website... Whether or not it's a graphical improvement, I don't think it would be quite right to be making a fangame remake of a game that can still be purchased.

A fan sequel I would understand but a remake is not really that useful, Simon 3D aint THAT bad looking.

Simon 3D's graphics are just as blocky as the first 2D games from Sierra.

I love all the negative energy around here. If I suddenly lost my mind and started giving away free 2 karat diamonds....someone would complain.

Simon 3D was beyond lame, presentation-wise. It was still the same old Simon humour and game-wise though. A 2D remake could be very good.

So when this unofficial fan remake is finished, it'll be okay with all of you for everyone to download it for free or whatever, even though the original version is still being offered for sale by Adventure Soft? Am I the only one who sees a problem with this?

AGD Interactive did create remakes of Kings Quest 1 and 2 without permission from Sierra either, and later it turned out okay, didn't it?

Adventure Soft might at one point discover this project and either cancel it or give it their blessing. That's up to them, not us, so please get off your soapbox.

The difference, although a small one, is that the Sierra games were no longer commercially available. So it's alright if someone decides tomorrow they want to release 2-d versions of Telltale's Sam & Max episodes for free because SOMEDAY they might think it's an okay idea? That's insane. But hey, I'm on a soap box, so clearly I don't know what I'm talking about.
