Penumbra
Anyone seen this?
http://www.penumbragame.com/ I haven't played it, but looking at the video it seems to be a Point and Click/FPS hybrid (though I didn't see any actual shooting.) It looks like it has a point and click type of interface in a full 3D environment. I'm curious to try it once I have the time to spare.

Penumbra
Penumbra is a new experimental game that puts heavy emphasis on realistic physics. It classifies itself as a horror adventure so I thought I'd put it in this section. So far there's a demo available for download, along with some screenshots and a trailer. Haven't played it yet, but the trailer looks promising.

New Game : Penumbra
Now,this game looks promising! The name is Penumbra, and it is a
3D,adventure-horror game.Check out the features : "Penumbra uses our in-house develop 3D engine, featuring the latest graphics and physics technologies. Thanks to these technologies Penumbra is able to immerse players into it's world of horror, unlike anything seen before within the genre. Dynamic shadows, normal mapping and specular effects creates a dark dynamic visual environment, creating a world of constant change. Motion blur, noise filters and bloom is used to create a world where sanity has no place. The physics engine allows the player to interact with object in new ways where doors drawers needs to be pulled open and doors barricaded to keep the evil out. Each object creates unique sounds based on surface and force, you can never predict how anything will behave or sound in this world. In Penumbra the player finds himself in an underground base on Greenland, searching for his lost father. It's an adventure horror game, free from classic first person shooter elements, with an emphasise on puzzle solving and exploring. Constantly on your toes you will never know what to expect, with no weapons how do you protect yourself? " Did i mention it´s free? Go check it out : http://frictionalgames.com/?q=penumbra |

Penumbra - New 3d adventure game?
Well I was browsing around gamespot and came across a download for an interesting sounding game called Penumbra. I downloaded it and installed it and so far, it is a very enjoyable 3d adventure game. It is in a first person perspective but it feels like you are an actual person walking as opposed to a most FP games that race you through the halls as if you were some floating camera. It also uses physics in the puzzles. You see a gas can on the top shelf...
Spoiler:. I'm only about 20 mins into it and don't have much free time at the moment so I can't comment if this style of gameplay continues. I found screen shots that show enemies but from what I gather, you need to solve puzzles to get around them rather than fight them. I did pick up health pills so far so I would assume you can take damage. From the developer's website... Quote:
Screenies and trailer here. ...bysmitty
