Default Dungeon Man 3!

The boys behind Homestar Runner and Peasant's Quest have just put up a new game on their site: http://www.homestarrunner.com/dman3.html

It's a short but sweet take on early graphic adventures, making light of both the genre and technology of the time in their usual dry wit.

It's pretty fun for what it is, and they do a great job of capturing that old timey feel. Basically, it's a good way to blow an hour. Enjoy!

(No, I had nothing to do with the making of this game, I just stumbled across it this morning while eating my mini wheats. And I apologize if this should have been posted in the underground section - I wasn't quite sure what it would be considered)

Brilliant, once again. I love the floppy disk loading sound everytime you switch screens. I got so used to that playing old Sierra games on my Apple II. Brings back fond memories.

I'm stuck on score of 10/38. Have talked to the cornman, troll, monk, and seen the bird and log. I also have the stein. Tried various commands but nothing's right so far. Good fun though.

Oh, I just found a new location

Great fun! And all of the puzzles made sense, which I wasn't expecting. Too bad that, if the ending is any indication, this will probably be the last Dungeon Man game. Okay, so maybe they're just spoofs, but they're still a blast.

Need help please! Can someone give me pointers/clues rather than a direct solution? Thanks.

Spoiler:

I've used the stein, spoken to the tough guy, got the map, used the ketchup with the hag, answered the questions, and I've got the flask grabbing glove which I'm wearing. I need corn from the cartman, but I don't have gold coins. I can't make the bird friendly until I feed him the corn. I can't get past the troll at the south bridge,. but I presume the bird might be needed first?
I've done all other areas such as ye pub, tavern, sandwich shoppe. I can't seem to do anything with the log either. My score is currently 24/38.

Aha, I finally finished it. I hadn't typed the right thing about the log, which was so simple but I was being so dumb. Duh!
That was good fun. Thanks for that Flyboy.

Amazing job.

I keep getting squashed by the pointy spikey walls. Can someone give me a hint?

Tried that.

Spoiler:
I tried using the bone on the spikey walls, using the claws on the spikey walls...

Clearly I'm being a dunce. (A dunce with a thumbtack-sized attention span, no less. )

Oh!

Spoiler:
I didn't try the bone on the claws... is that it?

Emily:

Spoiler:
"Use bone" will work. But it's supposed to be using them on the walls, to jam them open.

I was going to post some hints for the people who are stuck, but there you have it (right above), the first and probably only Dungeon Man 3 walkthrough. It's nice to see that people can still get so excited about a game despite (or in spite) of it's rudimentary graphics.

Which just goes to show that puzzles are and always will be more important than fancy graphics.
