Wow, this is amazing! I recently started replaying my old Sierra adventures and just finished KQ4. Can't wait for the remake!

These guys seem to be making good progess. I hope we don't have to wait a whole year

Edit: Typo's...

Why bother remaking old games?
They even removed the old parser based interface and replaced it with a "point and click" one.

Because old games and ugly and because parsers are outdated, clumsy, and stupid.
For example.

Of course, this is just my opinion (and it's been exagerated on purpose), but that's probably also the opinion of a bunch of other people, which makes a perfectly valid reason for remaking these games.

I must admit I'm not a fan of the text parser interface - although KQ4 was the first (and only) game with one that I ever completed. I don't have the patience for them anymore.

Its been somewhat the same for me, I used to be very into SQ/KQ/QFG style parser, but I get a bit more frustrated now when I play them because I don't have enough patience like I did back in the days. I need to be in a pretty calm mood to really enjoy a parser now a days.

Just to brag a bit, I just won an auction with the first three King's Quest games on Amiga, complete with box and manuals. I already have the collection box on PC, but I like collecting amiga-games more. Now I have King's Quest I, II, III and VI complete with box and manuals on amiga. Missing only 4 and 5 now. The rest is PC only. Oh, I should probably try to get the re-releases too, just to have a complete collection.

You said it. They keep getting pushed further away in release date. If it was real they would advertise it.

Hammerite, we're talking about the re-releases of the Quest Collections that have appeared on Amazon, whose release date keeps being pushed further and further back.

If you're going to remake something you may as well make significant changes.

Thanks for the link, it seems soon KQ1-4 will all be remade.

There's also this supposed KQ4-remake, but the site hasn't been updated in forever.

The text parser interface is what made the Sierra games so good.
I guess i´m alone in thinking that.

It was last updated May 30, 2004, so I guess they're dead.
