No. I'd never play such a crappy fan game.

Shhhh!!! Don't call it "King's Quest IX"! Vivendi might hear and change their mind...

Sorry Fov, couldent resist.
But honestly I'm not looking forward to KQ9 anymore because now we need to wait many more months when we should of been playing it a month ago. But so far I feel okay towards it. I'm really excited about SQ7 because they always keep everything under covers, heck we dont even know the plot yet. I think its super cool that Josh Mandel is apart of the team, it makes it very official to me. (even thought its unofficial & free)

I'm not eagerly waiting for it, but when it comes out, I might go ahead and take a peek if I feel like it.
Then again, the fact that I've never played any of the original KQ games might be quite influential in my indifference. |

I've played KQ1-8, yet after my own dying hype when the game got shut down I've lost some enthusiasim in this project. Maybe when its released I'll get more excited.

I'm going to play it for sure. And I've never even been a fan of the KQ series to begin with. I want to know if this game lives up to its hype. (They already scored big points with me for their kick-ass artwork, so that's a good start)

It wasn't an unreasonable question. It's not that unusual for rumored release dates to be bantered around on the forums even if they're not publicized on a company's website. I'm hoping that because they took about two months off, the delay will only be about two months (they were planning to release the first installment at the end of 2005 so that would push it to sometime in Q1 2006). But that's probably too optimistic. |

what was the deal? the could keep the same character and location names but just couldnt call it Kings Quest?
I wonder why they didnt keep the "Every Cloak has a silver lining" name and just reduced it to Silver Lining

That's it, basically. They're not allowed to specially call it "Kings Quest IX". The Silver Lining name change was a requirement of Vivendi, but they can still put "Inspired by Kings Quest". It's all there in the thread about the project's resumption.
