Nearly Departed...zombie adventure
I'm assuming this is an amateur game, but maybe they have bigger plans? Anyway, it's being made with LASSIE, and there is a single screenshot. See it here:

They both look good.

The online playable demo thing was pretty good, though I was kind of disappointed that it ended up being an advertisement for LASSIE.

Of course it's an advertisement for LASSIE...it's the official LASSIE full talkie demo hosted on the LASSIE website.

Finally a zombie adventure game!:)

This looks REALLY good!

This LASSIE engine, although in its early stages, doesn't sound so bad.

The picture looks ok, but the bit on the back right is bugginh me.
The wall and crypt are far too tilted to one side. It's distracting and looks wrong somehow. |
Yeah, the perspective is goofy. The tilt should be in the foreground rather than the background.
|
Can't please everyone.
|
I see what you're talking about, but it doesn't bother me because it fits into the wonky stylized art style category and can get away with it. Plus, I don't think it's that bad to begin with...just crazy undulating ground.
|
Is it possible to get through the grating in the playable demo.

Hello, all!
I didn't think there'd be any threads started about my project anywhere yet. I'm thrilled to see there's interest this early. Yes, it is an amateur game. I'm currently just working on it in my spare time as a hobby. No release plans have been set just yet, though I just about have the first two rooms done. I put up a quick website where I'll post images and updates. There are just two screenshots, and the site is pretty barebones. Maybe I'll make the site better at some point, but right now any extra time I have is going toward the game itself. Anyway, this is my first point & click game (and my first computer game in over ten years) so I hope when it's done everyone will find it worthwhile. Thanks again, John "I *brain* Zombies" Green www.johngreenart.com/nearlydeparted |
I'd like to say that this looks to be

It's a lovely, little website John. I personally think there's not much more needed. It says everything that needs to be said. Just needs more game to show off! :D ;)
But, like everyone's already said, this looks totally awesome. Really gets me psyched that we're gonna be playin' zombies in adventure games, finally! Great job, man. |
Good luck with your game, John.:)
|
I made a small update to my site to add a couple more screenshots and character animations, if anyone's interested:

Looks great.
Keep up the good work. |
There's a 15-MB, pre-release demo available for either the Mac or Windows. The final/full version of the game will feature full speech, but that is not available in the demo version. Nice game...can't wait for the final product which will be available via Pinhead Games.
