With luck, though, when Nearly Departed is finished, the game will be a good portfolio piece, so to speak, and that would lead to paid work.
Well, I don't expect you to supplement your income in game completion, example in ags games, several games makers usually work with other members to do graphics, scripts and beta testing.

So, you might consider asking other members from here to give you a hand?

Yes, I agree this game will be an excellent portfolio!

Well, I'm sure I'll eventually need beta testers, but I haven't given that too much thought yet.

Since it's not a commercial product and you don't have to do support or anything, you could probably just do an open beta. Or work the kinks out after release.

I'll be interested in doing some beta works if situation arises!

Can you believe I just heard about this game on a indie comic podcast?

I loved the demo!

Well, yeah I did listen to the podcast, but it's always kinda funny to see a cartoonist in a game forums and a game desinger/programer in a comic forum...

But what I really mean, is that I've been in the forum for ages, and instead of hearing from your game here, I hear about in a indie comic podcast... Which I don't even listen to regularly...

There's a new article up with a little behind the scenes info on Nearly Departed:

Ooh, fascinating stuff. Especially how it was mostly focussed on the art, which is an area that I, personally, don't have much professional experience in.

Interesting angle for the interview. You have a very thoughtful approach to this project. Should pay off in the end.

So it's May, the date that I arbitrarily pretended you said this would be done by. You wouldn't break an imaginary promise, now would you?

Indeed they do. Things are a variety of shapes now, but hopefully I'll have a more solid update by the end of the summer.

Sorry I haven't mentioned any updates in a while. But here's a little treat.
