3 more backgrounds left to do!

Well, basically. 2 left to color, 1 to ink and color.

Then there are 3 or 4 "intermediary" backgrounds to do. But I might move on to the next phase before moving onto those.

Woo hoo!

Wow, getting close.

Have you written the dialog and and puzzles yet? I mean I figure you haven't scripted or finalized them yet, but I'm wondering how much you have laid out already.

Keep the momentum up. Still very excited to see how this turns out.

Almost all the puzzles have been worked out, as well as a lot of dialog, but none of it has actually been written into the game yet.

Hi JohnGreenArt,

Sorry for the later reply and I thank you for pointing me to the right direction.

When are we to expect the full version?
It seems you are advancing at a excellent speed.

All the best during the New Year.

There's really no "expected" release date at this moment. Since I'm working on this on my own time and it's creating no revenue for me it does have to take a backseat to my paying jobs. So I'd hate to tell everyone it'll be done at a specific date and not make the deadline. The Christmas/New Years break slowed things down, so it's hard to estimate, but as the project moves further and I pick up speed again I might be able to give everyone a general idea of when it might be done.

You can't rush perfection. Take your time and finish that great adventure game.

I'm just going to pretend all that text said "May."

Will you be providing a paypal account for donations or something similar. I have given a few bits of cash here and there. I think I gave money to pinhead games once or twice even, and there was another game site I'm sure I gave to.

I know 99% of gamers don't bother with contributions, but having played the demo, I'll be more than willing to pay what I think the total fun of the game was worth, as I will be willing to pay money for the final version of Whispered World.

Damn, I really hope that will really get released.

BadBrain really should do some more progress updates, if you ask me.

They've gone out of business, so I doubt they will. (You'll understand this thread far better than me, Jaz : http://www.adventure-treff.de/forum/...ic.php?t=10840)

While donations would be nice and certainly appreciated, I can't imagine it being enough to supplement my income to the point I could drop another paying gig.

With luck, though, when Nearly Departed is finished, the game will be a good portfolio piece, so to speak, and that would lead to paid work.

My job is always getting in the way too. But It hasn't stopped me from working on my game. It hasn't stopped me for over FOUR YEARS!

*sigh* That was what I was afraid of.

Anyway, I've read what he wrote there, and apparently he's giving away the right to finish the Whispered World to any amateur game makers that can believeably prove to him that they are able to finish a game like that. He'd give them all the stuff they already had, including models background and dialogues and stuff, all for free. The rights would still be with Bad Brain Entertainement of course, but he would allow them to make the game, as long as it remains non-commercial.

I have a feeling no one has taken him up on that offer yet, though.

Because he's no game designer, programmer or artist?

"The Whispered World" was Marco's project.
