Default Favourite background character in an adventure game

The thread about the very high possibilty of a 4th broken sword got me thinking about who i'd liek to see back in the series and also general adventure game characters who only ever have a brief apperance however become memorable characters.

So I think we all should post our favs

Mine would have to be that guy you meet in the hospital, in Broken Sword 1, who claims to suffer from serious Black outs/or was its some sort of form of Narcolepsy, as they happen every couple of seconds, he would blink and would be like it see it happened again. Quite funny in my opinion a character who thinks blinking is a serious medical condition.

That character always stuck out in my mind and I think it would be great to give tribute to all the minor characters that made our gaming experience all that more enjoyable

Hahaha, I'd be lying if I didn't say Doctor Love from "Two of a Kind". His dry wit and badassness, combined with his power to make ANYTHING attractive is just hilarious.

Hmmm... But characters NOT from a game I worked on... I'd have to go with the IRS guys from DOTT.

"What was your wife's name again?"
"Sandy."
"Oh right."

Brilliant. Not to mention how they practically return in another Tim Shafer game as the G-Men in Psychonauts.

"Hello fellow Road Crew worker. Welcome to the Road Crew."

How minor is minor, here?

I always liked the Pawn Shop owner from King's Quest 6. The Pawn Shop sort of felt like a little sanctuary... whenever Alex needed some weird item or bit of advice for his next sticky situation, he could always find it at the Pawn Shop.

If we're going for *really* minor, then I put in a vote for Rotten Tomato, same game. What an adorable little insulting curmudgeon.

Second runner-up would be the innkeeper/bartender in Gabriel Knight 2. I loved the over-the-top dramatic way he told Grace all those old stories and legends.

Third runner-up would be Maria from the second chapter of Sanitarium. After spending the whole chapter dealing with brainwashed children unwilling to help you, it was a relief to meet the one kid who seemed to have her head screwed on straight!

Peace & Luv, Liz

I'm rather fond of all the professors in Syberia 1 - the annoying ones, who meet and talk about lunch, and the helpful one!

Most games by Tim Schafer have had people with suits... DOTT had the IRS, Full Throttle had Ripburger's bodyguards, Grim Fandango had the assassins and now Psychonauts has the G-Men.

I echo Jeysie's question, How minor is minor, here?

There are lots of memorable characters that ain't playing major role in games, and my favourite characters came from Curse of the Monkey Island the cannibal and Captain LeCh..
Spoiler:
LeChimp

Love the many background characters from Grim Fandango as well, especially those who appear in Rubacava, like the patrons of the bar and the people at the gambling table.

The Aussie Pilot in BS3 is pure class... Being an Australian is comment to beer tasting like "angels sweat" got me...

The Waiter at the French Cafè in Broken Sword 2 is heaps funny as well... not to mention the Docks Guard...

Also, if you date back to Leisure Suit Larry 1... the shop clerk that you buy the condoms from is ****ing hilarious...

And lastly, that crazy shop owner in Secret of Monkey Island...

Default how minor is minor

I was going for the character you see maybe once or twice their lines or actions are short and sweet yet funny/dramatic (whatever your pleasure)enough to make them memorable.

Although admittingly I did contemplate including characters like Murray from Monkey Island in the mix

So I guess minor in the sense that they aren't the central characters but the more obscure the more interesting don't you think

So true although I dont see where they would have fit. BS3 was meant to be a little darker I think to keep up with the other adventures that have plastered the market the last 4 years.

With the limitations you set I would have to say my favorite would be Wally from MI2, 3.

Hmmm, I catn remember many of the secondary characters but was Mr. Shiney the deputy? Who was the cleaner?

Wait, Either Shiney or cleaner must be the priest who cleaned everything? Am I right?
