Default Mr Adventure 2003!

OK, Tanukitsune, you've asked for it...

Since there are so many more male protagonists in adventure games my suggestion is that everyone gets to nominate five men each. Then we make a poll out of the most popular ones!

My favourite five are:
Manny Calavera from Grim Fandango
Tex Murphy from you know where
Lewton from Discworld Noir
Ben from Full Throttle
and finally an outsider: Spud from the Quivering

Sounds fun lets do it.

Guybrush Threewood from The Secret of Monkey Island
Ben Whathisname from Full Throttle
Lewton PI from Discworld Noir
Boston Low from The Dig
Nameless, Faceless, Gender Neutal Adventurer from Zork

Indiana Jones, from the games bearing his name (come on guys, he's practically the definition of adventure)
Lewton, Discworld Noir
Guybrush Threepwood, Monkey Island series
Ben Throttle (his name is NOT Whatshisname, damnit), Full Throttle
Brian Basco, Runaway
Hahaha, just kidding about that last one. Seriously. Don't count it.
Instead, how about...
Manny Calavera, Grim Fandango

(I had to do an edit, because I moronically left out Manny. Sorry Bobbin, you're still my bro.)

Manny Calavera, Robert Cath, Gabriel Knight, and Guybrush Threepwood would be my picks. They are so cool.

Guybrush Threepwood (Monkey Island 1-2)
Gabriel Knight (Gabriel Knight 1)
Ben Throttle (Full Throttle)
Larry Laffer (Larry series)
aaand...
Woodruff (Woodruff and the Shnibble of Azimuth) - he was just so much fun, plus I played this game not long ago and he still comes to my mind.

Those are cool:

- Gabriel Knight (coolcat from GK1)
- George Stobbart (BS Trilogy hero with dirty tissue)
- Manny Calavera (even for his last words alone)
- Guybrush Threepwood (MI1&2, not a "tool" from MI3&4)
- Glottis (a friend in need is friend indeed - even if it's a giant, orange, hamster-like demon )
- Indiana Jones (yes, he is a personification of adventure spirit)
- Lewton (great accent, great humor and he knows what a tragic love is)
- Woodruff is also great (especially after his breakdown he becames something more than just another hero)

Rincewind? No. In games he's just a shadow of himself from the novels.

4 of the 5 have names that start with G. Coincidence? Yes.

That's a pretty generous "five"

Manny Calavera, Ben Throttle, and Guybrush Threepwood (personality?) would be my first 3 picks. I'll think about the other 2. GJ would want to nominate Ludger Brink, so I guess I'll place an absentee nomination for her.

Wow. I managed to forget the man in my avatar. Yeah, him. He's such a cute suspected terrorist.
