Default Is Full Throttle 2 definetely cancelled?

One of my all-time favorites is Full Throttle. A few months ago I saw a really cool trailer of the game's sequel and I must admit that I started drooling... Then came the shock: reading a pc gaming mag, I fell onto an article saying that the development of the game has been cancelled, without stating any of the reasons. Is this desicion ultimate? Is there any hope whatsoever? Shall we ever see Full Throttle 2 come to life?

Yes, a couple of years ago now. Here is AG's news item about it.

You could do a search of the forum to see how people reacted to the cancellation, but the forum was down in the summer of 2003 so I'm not sure you'll be able to find any posts on it. In general, a lot of people were glad about the cancellation because the game was coming out a lot more actiony than fans wanted. And at the time, we thought we still had Sam & Max 2 to look forward to.

I'll see if I can find any threads about the cancellation in the temporary forum from that summer.

EDIT: Here's one. On a mostly unrelated note, Lucas Forums, who hosted the AG temporary forum that summer, has flood control on searches. Flood control on searches!

Blargh. It is definitely cancelled. Also for the record: LucasArts didn't cancel it because they hate adventure games or anything*, they cancelled it out of mercy because it was turning out to be a bad game.

That's just why they cancelled Sam & Max.

They cancelled FT2 because it was too much of a bad-quality action game (when's that ever stopped them?) and then they cancelled Sam and Max 2 because its an adventure that wont sell well (SURE it wont).
