Acronym List anyone?
I think everyone around here, especially newbies would find a list of what common game acronyms used around here mean quite usefull. I personally sometimes find myself lost on some abbreviations used in forum threads and such a list would have been useful.
Heres some that I can think of off the top of my head. BS1, BS2, BS3 ---> Broken Sword Series GK1, GK2, GK3 ---> Gabriel Knight Series GF--> Grim Fandango MoS--> Moment of Silence TLJ --> The Longest Journey SMI-->The Secret of Monkey Island MI2--> Monkey Island 2: Lechucks Revenge CMI--> Curse of Monkey Island EMI--> Escape from Monkey Island DoTT--> Day of the Tentacle BASS--> Beneath a Steel Sky FoTAQ--> Flight of the Amazon Queen

How about...
KQ, SQ, PQ = King's / Space / Police Quest QfG = Quest for Glory LSL = Leisure Suit Larry S&M = Sam and Max UAKM = Under a Killing Moon R(t)MI = Return to Mysterious Island HHGTTG, H2G2 = Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy BG(&)E = Beyond Good & Evil KOTOR = Knights of the Old Republic FoA = (Indiana Jones and the) Fate of Atlantis ...? Good idea, but I think the list of the really popular ones (on a particular forum) is rather short, in fact. And when you stumble upon The Magnificent Adventure of Alan Smithee the Conqueror of the Universe or something, you'll still want to shorten it even if nobody else had heard of it. So the best bet is probably to use acronym only when it's easy decipherable from the context, whether because of thread's subject, the opinion I am quoting or arguing against, or because I myself mentioned the full name short ago. Unfortunately, that advice is actually aimed at those using them rather than those confused by them.

Although context of the thread should give away meanings of the acronyms often they don't, and to save us all from overasked questions such as " What samarest day?"(which I actually don't quite know the answer to but thats besides the point) replaced by numerous what is DOTT (Day of the Tentacle) short for? or others along the same lines, then a handy thread to look it up is quite usefull. Although I do admit there isn't actually alot of such questions asked, as far as i've seen anyways but I'm sure there are many who were thinking it and afraid to ask, (not knowing that no one in this forum bites of course) and perhaps readers who aren't members and can't post.
