List of Rare Adventure Games
Hi All,
I am compiling a list of all RARE & Valuable Adventure Games. Any one can help or advice in adding any rare title in it ? |
Get a copy of U.F.O.s. Best rare game I ever played. All the rest I think are mostly rare for a reason.
|
The Last Express and Gabriel Knight 1 and 2 I believe are rare. I can't think of any more at the top of my head.

I think The Last Express is not very rare. Its easily available on http://www.cdaccess.com and else where. How about adding 1.) Vampire Diaries 2.) Blue Heat 3.) Marilyn Monroe : Hard Evidence 4.) Dracula's Secret 5.) Cassandra Galleries Any Comments ? |
AFAIK, The Last Express is rare in UK unless you go to E-bay. Last I checked it wasn't availabale at Amazon. But I don't know about US so you're probably right.

Here's a few more:
Celtica Gag L-Zone Alice an Interactive Museum Treasure Hunter Riddle of the Maze Hamlet: A Murder Mystery Opera Fatale Ghosts |
English version of A.D. 2044
|
3 Skulls of the Toltecs
Are You Afraid of the Dark? The Arrival Callahan's Crosstime Saloon Drowned God Ghosts Gilbert Goodmate and the Mushroom Phungoria Jerusalem: The 3 Roads to the Holy Land Kingdom: The Far Reaches, Book One Kingdom: Shadoan, Book Two Liath Tex Murphy: Martian Memorandum Tex Murphy: Under a Killing Moon Touche': The Adventures of the Fifth Musketeer Verschollen auf Lost Island (Missing On Lost Island) |
Any of Sierra's game collections; the individual games aren't too hard to get on eBay, but finding them all at once is considerably more difficult (and expensive).
For LucasArts fans, the FM Towns ports of: Loom Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis Monkey Island 1 Monkey Island 2 (Loom and Zak have substantial design improvements over their original versions, and Indy 3 has CD music on FM Towns; however, the last three on this list are only for diehard LucasArts collectors, as their graphics are awful compared to the PC versions.) |
The Neverhood
The Dark Eye Alice: An Interactive Museum Obsidian Of course, rare is a relative term, but these are games I've heard people claim are rare. |
not so rare but a must-have:
The Longest Journey In order from the most common to the weirdest: Igor: Objective Uikokahonia Flight of the amazon queen Little big adventure (1 & 2) I have no mouth and i must scream Cosmology of Kyoto Kult (a.k.a. Chamber of The Sci-Mutant Priestess) have fun! |
How rare AGs are depends to some extent on at what point of time we are. A few years ago, REAH was perceived as very rare and it was commanding high prices, then a few months ago there was a Reah glut and it was going for half the price it did before.
However, if you keep an eye on Ebay over a few months, you start getting an idea as to what games are truly rare. Some of them are (in no particular order): Celtica Neverhood Alice Interactive Museum Cassandra Galleries Gadget (the original 1994 version) Versailles 1685 Secrets of the Luxor Dinotopia 3 Skulls of the Toltecs These are some of the main ones, but there are others such as I Have No Mouth & I Must Screen that are not on Ebay at any particular time, but show up now & then and usually cost a moderate amount. Also, there are some games that just a few years ago were not considered rare, but are now very hard to find at any particular time eg. Amber & Lighthouse. |
Last time I checked it was pretty hard to get hold of a copy of the fantastic Sanitarium.
|
Duckman and Innocent Until Caught too, I think...

From what I know, Gold Rush is quite rare and so is Darkseed.

The only rare one I can see you've missed is Orion Burger which often goes for >$150 on eBay FGM-Lyn |
Any Infocom or Magnetic Scrolls game in a good condition and including all feelies is rare ... but worth it. ;)

Synnergist (this was never released in North America at all)
L'Affaire Molov (saw this one go for around $170 on eBay a month or so ago) Master of Dimensions is another one you don't see very often. |
