I am an adventure gaming fan and am looking for some games to play to help me avoid responsiblity and take my precious time. I have won all my games even the one I bought two days ago so I am looking suggestions as to what is some of the best AG'ing around.

Depends on what you are looking for, really. What type of stories do you like?

Otherwise, hit the basics and just stick with Longest Journey, Grim Fandango, and Myst.

Let see, other games in that style are Return to Mysterious Island (good, but short), Lighthouse (good, but very hard), and Mysterious Journey (never played them myself).

Outside of that, you can't go wrong with the old Lucasarts games.

Funny you mentioned that. I've made an attempt to contact the game designer to see about making it freeware. I still have my copy around here somewhere.

Rex was the first game to use that engine as far as I know. Then Beneath a Steal Sky used it. Beneath a Steal Sky was released as freeware for Scummvm but they did not replicate the old GUI. I'm guessing that BASS was done with scummvm because it would not run right. If that's the case Rex would have to be converted as well. I'll load up my copy and see how it goes.

I have written a short mystery text adventure game for iPods, if you have one...

You can download it:

Maybe you can try it out while you're waiting for a more sophisticated adventure game.
