Default Jane Jensen, New game?

I remember reading that Jane Jensen was in the process of developing a new game loosely titled "Gray Matter". (It's not a sequel to a Gabriel Knight game, but it's supposed to have two different characters that you take turns playing.) She would be working with DreamCatcher ( and we all know that they have nice looking graphics).

I was really excited about that, finally we would have an awesome looking game with an awesome, in-depth plot. (I haven't played a DreamCatcher game that I've liked yet, excluding Beyond Atlantis.)

Unfortunately, this project seems to have been abandoned since I haven't heard anything about it lately. Does anyone know any different?

"Gray Matter" was put on hold. There is an article on this here .

Haven't you seen this new Jane Jensen adventure game?

Welcome to the forum!

Unfortunately, there hasn't been any news about Gray Matter since it was put on hold. Jane has been working on "casual" games, such as BeTrapped and Inspector Parker.

The question that comes to my mind is why would someone with Jane Jensen's considerable talents waste them creating trivial stuff like "casual games." I checked out Mr. Parker and the graphics and gameplay and lack of any in depth storyline makes the whole game seem like something from the late eighties; it reminded me of playing a sort of computer version of "Clue." Why would Jane waste her time and talent with this crap?

Perhaps it's part of a long-term plan. Sometimes you just need to do these projects to keep the wolf from the door. Revolution did a "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" game because it helped the company keep going between projects.

The obvious rejoinder is that Revolution also did BS3 to keep the company going in between adventure games.... but that would be evil and mean.

(Sorry, Steve... but, yanno...)

Fair enough.... I'm mean. But not evil. I fight for truth, justice, and the Zorkian way. Thus the giant F on my leotard. (Zorro already copyrighted the Z, so I went for the next most appropriate initial.)

Confused as usual . . . what would F stand for? Fairness? Fighting? A Zorkian term I don't know?

The Wizard of Frobozz in Zork is a royal pain in the ass. He appears out of nowhere, waves his magic wand and casts nasty spells on you, all starting with an F: Freeze, Float... stuff like that, I don't remember the exact spells, too long ago.

Fumble was a good one. Made you drop stuff.

Occasionally he'd do some spell that didn't work, and get all embarassed and 'poof' disappear.

That was the game with the unicorn, right? Never got too far in that one... I did like provoking that wizard, though.

Yeah, the unicorn... I didn't know you could provoke the wizard, but that doesn't say much cause I don't even remember if I finished the game. I do know I played all the Zork games, though.

PS: There's a rather obscure but funny and unique 1st-person Russian graphical adventure called GAG, with loads of references to other adventure games. Had to assemble parts of an obviously Zorkish hot air balloon to reach a door high up.
