I would like to see Monkey Island as a movie, but also Gabriel Knight and Broken Sword would make great movies.

I actually wouldnt want ot see ANY adventure game as a movie (since what would be the point?) however, Broken Sword 1 would be cool as a serial drama.

oh also on the subject, a game i had forgotten about that could be made into a movie, Flight of The Amazon Queen As it happens, a few friends from work and myself, who are all old school gamers and have a keen interest in film making, are actually working on a low budget fan made short/movie of a classic adventure game, but as it will be very low budget so monkey island probably won't be what we make

I would like to see The Dreamweb on the big screen!
This game just screams "Movie!". The game has: - A cool but not too complex story - Lots of violence - Sex(y) scenes - Guns - A cool cyberpunk setting - An original "from the top" perspective - Cool techno music And the game is fairly short so not much would be lost storywise if they made it a 2 hour movie! The Dreamweb has winner written all over it

I've got to go with Grim Fandango. The story and the style are already so well thought out that I'm sure it would make a successful transition to film. Plus, it's totally original. I can't think of another movie quite like it, where everything gets rehashed these days and old concepts are just reworked, the industry is in bad need of fresh ideas.
If it were done well, maybe it would convince Roger Ebert to recant his statement about games not being art. |

Having played Full Throttle and The Dig now I'd think they'd both make awesome movies. Grim Fandango too of course.

I'd love to see the following adventures on the big screen:
- Gabriel Knight, because it's still my favourite series. Even though The Beast Within is more or less a movie, I'd still love to see it on screen. Or any of the other two games. Or probably something new alltogether Who would make a perfect Gabriel, though? Dean Erickson comes to mind, of course, but as far as I know, he retired from acting and is now into real estates. - Broken Sword. There are rumours that the original Broken Sword is going to be a movie but there's no information on cast, crew, script etc. I think Brendan Fraser might be perfect for portraying George but maybe that's just because I watched The Mummy again recently - The Longest Journey. It has it all - great story, loveable characters. It would make an awesome fantasy movie. I think The Moment of Silence would make a good movie as well, as would Mystery of the Druids and Overclocked. Oh, and Black Mirror might work as a movie; just change the ending |

Grim Fandango, definitely. Preferably cartoon animated... the style of it is already quite cinematic with so many film noir tones going on. A feature film of it would be quite amazing. Anything live action or a change in style to anything more gothic would ruin it a bit.
Still Life would make a brilliant film if the ending wasn't such a let down. |

Anyone remember the Tim Burton's Grim Fandango rumours? Obviously someone with a lot of wishful thinking and a tenuous grip on reality but damn, that would have been sweet.

Easy.
Grim Fandango & Syberia 2. Grim Fandango because it was so cinematic and had a wonderful story, with a captivating world and characters. While it was a good game it would have been a better movie I think. Gameplay didn't seem a priority. Syberia 2 because the trailer made me realize it would have been better off as one. It didn't work as a game. I have problems to say more, so I leave it at that. |

Sanitarium would be good for a film. Although debately they already have made a cheap film of it. But a big movie production would just be awesome.
As for Grim Fandango winning, I'm with people for the majority. But only if Tim Burton DOESN'T have anything to do with it. He gets enough attention for riding on other people's stories. Lets say, Tim Schafer to direct it, considering it would have to be an animated film, and, well, Tim Schafer knows the story than anyone else. Mind you, you could pretty much make a film out of the game footage with some good editing skills, so what's the point actually... |

Hard To say. GK was an incredible adventure, but would need good script writing and direction to not come off as a bad B movie. The QFG series could come off well if it were done well if it were done in more of the Armies of Darkness silly mood, but more in the LOTR type settings. A game like The Longest Journey, or Dreamfall might be the easiest to pull off, simply because with those games have really big plots that you can really put your arms around.
