Default In Memoriam: Another email, many months on

Just wondering whether anyone else had received another email from the Phoenix recently, as I did. I'm not sure whether it's hinting at a sequel.

More details of the mail:
Spoiler:

It was in French, which erm, I can't understand that well.

Bonjour Poussin,
Une nouvelle Œuvre se prépare. Tu vas bientôt entendre parler de moi… te faire patienter, j’en ai mis un extrait sur mon site, spécialement pour toi… http://www.xineph.com/9782911383182

A bientôt Poussin,

Le Phoenix

The supplied link then leads on to a flash movie, with more French that I can't understand...

Interesting stuff, anyway.

My French isn't terrifically good ::haha::...but the e-mail says something like:

Hello my pet

A new work I have prepared. Go soon to hear about me...but wait, I have a clip on my site, especially for you...

See you soon my pet,

Pheonix

And then the stuff at the end of the flash movie says something like:

Hello my pet,

It is nice of you to visit me.
You know, I am certain that my little clip has you pleased.
Some extracts of my new Work...
{You will see she caused quite a scene}
See you soon, my pet

Argh, how I hate french, although I understand it

Anyway it's clearly hinting at the In Memoriam sequel (which has been announced, I think), the clip took forever to load and it wasn't even worth the wait, since it doesn't show anything exciting.

Oh well, sure it's better a mail from The Phoenix than another Penis Enlargement thing

Cheers, Choogeullae. I did try running it through babelfish, but its translation wasn't that great. Yours makes a lot more sense.

Strange, the last email I got from them was for some sort of reunion of In Memoriam fans....
Shouldn't all the people who played the game get the same mails?

Well, they're probably not sending the emails out until it has been translated or something.

I hadn't received this email, but I'm certainly intersted.

I got it twice (because I registered with two e-mail accounts), and it took a long time before the second mail showed up, so maybe they're just not finished sending them out.

Looks interesting, anyway, can't wait to find out more about this game.

Download times aside (got a nice fast connection here... , I thought that was pretty good. Looks like they're going for a very similar style to the first. Not really sure what else they could put in a teaser trailer...

With a game like this I reckon they'll have gained a lot of experience from producing the first one, so hopefully this one should suffer less from the annoying puzzles and
Spoiler:
anticlimactic ending

Bring it on, I say. Hopefully they'll go for a worldwide simultaneous release though... I really don't want to have to be accidentally trawling through walkthrough sites again...

I havent received it, maybe I didnt notice and deleted it, but its cool they keep sending these mails.
Hope the sequel has more innovations and not just a new set of puzzles.
It would be fun if the player would actually have to write emails, or maybe use other computer features like the printer or maybe a microphone... although I cant see how

Yay!

I haven't gotten it (the email), but I'm all excited now.

Spoiler:
Did anyone else start to wonder whether Jack would turn out to be the Phoenix?

I've now received it. I'm looking forward to this one, so long as they don't make a game that's EXACTLY the same as the previous one. Some of the minigames in In Memoriam were damn cruel, and I'm not sure that I could subject myself to some of them again.

Having said that, if they do something similar, but expand the concept a bit, then it could work very, very well.

I received a french magazine yesterday, and there was an article about In Memoriam. I haven't have time to read it yet, but I think I catched the word add-on...

Ninth, fancy doing some more translating? Got another one.
Spoiler:

I must say, I absolutely loved In memoriam... but I've got worries -- but more on those later. I'll translate it up first:

Spoiler:
Exactly a year after the Jack lorski business the agency [SKL] is pitted up against the Phoenix again. At the beginning of october, we received another CD-ROM similar to the one he sent last year. For the last year, we've forgotten about him (not exactly the translation), as his murderous rampage across Europe had come to an end. Why has the Phoenix, after so many months of silence and apparent "peacefulness" (lit. translation: murderous inactivity.) sent this new CD? Having only this one clue to this new mystery, the agency is once again turning to the public in hopes of enlightening this new terror. We are convinced that releasing the CD to the public will help solve this mystery and thank in advance anyone who is willing to contribute, little or a lot, to putting an end to the Phoenix's actions.

This isn't perfect, but it's the jist of it.

As to worries... well, I loved In Memoriam, and craved more when it ended, but will it be the same if it's just a clone?
Another bunch of puzzles, following another cryptic pattern, unlocking more movie clips about another murderous rampage across Europe?
Spoiler:
By the looks of the teaser, it seems there's someone else kidnapped.

Although I'm pretty confident the developers will be able the shake things up a bit, maybe a
Spoiler:
copy cat killer?

I'm still excited about it all... hopefully they can clean up the end while they're at it....
