This is where I go:

http://www.gamershell.com/download_demo.shtml

No registration required, fast downloads, and no lines. It's not just adventure games of course, but if there's a demo released, it'll be on here.

Thanks.. sorry I should have stated I was looking for sites that are highly recommended and actually are good sites. Some you just can't trust.

fishcube, I noticed in your sig that you're interested in the Silent Hill series. FYI, the first SH is exclusive to the Playstation and does not have a PC version. SH2 and 3 have PC versions, but SH2 does not have a demo available. SH3 has a demo, but be warned, it is massive, over 500MB to download.

The demo for Missing is actually under its European title, In Memoriam.

Tried Gamershell, and all I get is errors when trying to download off two mirror sites... ??

reached capacity & USA didn't recognize your request... ??

As for fileplanet, I guess one has to wait at least 30 min to start download.

Fileshack, doesn't do anything when I click on download...

That's typical for most any free download sites, fishcube. The only way for you to bypass all that is to buy a subscription to, say, gamespot or gamespy. Despite your frustrations, gamers hell really is one of the more reliable free places for demos. You can also try Worthplaying.com, or even do the bit torrent client.
