Just picked up Gabriel Knight 3 for a few quid off ebay
For about ÂŁ3.69 inc delivery.
Just wounder is it a good long adventure game as i was hoping to get GK2 but there hard to come by and thought id get this instead. Also its to occupy my time while i find a good priced The Longest Journey game. So what am i going to get out of this game guys and gals? Ive read some reviews but i like to hear the "real gamers" opinions as ther much more passionate and realistic. |

So you're the bastard that stole the game from me! I WILL MAKE YOU PAY FOR THAT!!!
- Just kidding I didn't bid in that auction I think Anyway it's a fairly good game, although not really the best in the series. It's long but quite frustrating in terms of puzzles that do not make much sense (the moustache and candy puzzle, for example, you will encounter them very soon). But for that price, I'd buy it any day of the week even though I don't like it that much hehe

It is my favourite game, you'll get glued to the chair as soon as you get into the story, mark my word.

The story is just excellent and the music (and in my opinion all the other sounds too (voice acting)) is just superb. The story just keeps you hooked, even on later times. It's just an amazing game. |

I liked GK3 a lot, but not as much as most people in this thread. I have a slow computer at the time, so it might not have helped, but I found this opus to be inferior to the second one by a long range.
To be precise, I'll give GK2 a 9/10, GK3 a 8/10 and GK1 a 7/10.

I know
Btw u recon with AMD athlon xp 1900+ (1600mhz) cpu 512ddr geforce 4 ti 64meg sound blaster live 5.1 (no suround speakers tho ) i can max details and also how much anti-antilizing and antristopic filtering u think i can do to make it even nicer. I think i could probably do it full detail with aa and af on max but i dunno and woundering how intensive is it. Have Win XP pro by the way. |

I can't really speak to how intensive the game is but seeing as it came out in 1999 and your system is good by today's standards, I think you'll be fine. First time I played GK3 was on a laptop that didn't support changing screen resolutions and I had to use software rendering. Hmm... maybe that's why I didn't like GK3 so much the first time around... Second time was with an nVidia GeForce2 32megs and it looked much nicer, although I can't say whether I maxed out all the settings or not. There may have been one thing that was grayed out to me in the options, I just don't remember. -emily |

Yes, he'll be able to max everything out, especially considering it's not an FPS that demands 30 frames per second. I'm sure you could play it comfotably with 14 or so.

What was so bad about GK1? IMHO, it's the second-best of the series. Gk2, gk1, and Gk3 in order, is my most preferred now. Still love all 3 and IMHO are the best adventure games ever. |

!!!!! IT HAS ARRIVED !!!!!
Installed no problem on my xp pro computer when on the back it says not xp compatible Gfx are cool and faces are nicely detailed the begining room (only tested like 2 mins ago so only been there) are ok but in the gfx options i have to turn off incremental rendering off as it makes some textures and objects flicker or go very transparent, most notibly the chair at the back corner and the ceiling (sp). Although once u get near em they are normal again but i turned it off anyhow as its better without it (btw what does that option do). I have full gfx and aa and af on btw YEAH!!! Intro aint bad either and the intertface was a bit weird first few seconds but after trying all mouse buttons and knowing how they work, seems like a ok interface as u dont have to keep an eye on gabriel all the time and can leave him whiel u check stuff out. Be back later after a good thorough testing and play of the game to tell u more of more experiences if u like. Although the game has been out since 99 i was woundering if there has been any patches that i need to get. Google and such aint found much. Btw i have the re-release Xplosiv version |

It could possibly be the greatest Adventure game of all time, Gabriel Knight 3. I'm an ignorant American so I don't know how much USD that quid is but it seems really really low so I salute you and hope you enjoy this masterpiece.
