Yes but... hype is good, isn't it? I like to be hyped!

And lots of people do. We should have, like, a Hype-o-Meter or something!!

I think you're just missing the point of this poll.
This isn't a poll on what games are better than the others, it's just a poll to see which games the gamers are more excited about, so that people who's wondering what to look for in the future can get a fair overview on what's to come.
If you're simply not excited about anything, you don't vote.

That's what I said.

Anyway, I hope he doesn't leave.

I wonder... why don't you put the poll on the site's main page too (or only), Stinger?
I mean, even if this vote only counts for 50% of the hype-o-meter, 120 voters is really not much. Don't you think there would have been a lot more votes if anyone visiting the site could participate to the poll? Or maybe (probably) I am missing something crucial here.

The justification probably is that this way we can make sure that only the people who are genuinely interested in the genre get to vote.

I don't think many people who are not genuinely interested in the genre would go to adventuregamers.com, let alone vote... or would they?
And besides, don't the opinion of people who are only moderately interested count? (it's a real question here, not sarcasm, I'm curious about whose hype the hype-o-meter is about)

Putting it on the main-page would make it subject to abuse, like people just re-choosing an option again and again, since they can just disable their cookies.

Only way to do that in a forum would be to create another user.

Anyway, that's the only reason I can think of.

Best reason I've heard so far. But we're all above that, right, guys?

Unless they're bored to death and have nothing else to do, why would anyone want to vote excessively for some poll, unless there's a chance to win a prize or other?

To get their favorite game on top?

Well, I personally wouldn't go that far, even for my favourite game. [shrugs]

And especially for a game that's not out yet. ... Right?

What I'm saying is that I prefer to vote only once and not abuse the system. Is there anything wrong with that?
