King's Quest VI and VII have already been mentioned. They both have good multiple endings, especially VI. Another game with multiple endings is The Dig by Lucasarts. Although there are only slight differences between the two endings, it's nice to see Lucasarts adding this nice touch to one of their more atmospheric games.

Does TLE have more than one ending where you can get to Constantinople?

My mistake. King's Quest VII has chapter variations as opposed to different game endings. It is King's Quest VI that has the different endings.

Arcatera: A Game with Multiple Endings
Quote:
If you're looking for a game with multi endings, Arcatera: The Dark Brotherhood. Not only does it come with 10 possible ways it can end, it has a unique random-play engine. I'm not sure of the technical aspects, but there are unlimited actions you can take, changing the outcome of the game every step of the way! It never plays the same twice. I've been playing it steady since March, 2004, yeah? |

Monkey Island II had a weird alternate ending that is really hard to get. You have to complete the game in a certain order under a certain time period. Read Ron Gilbert's comments about it here: http://www.grumpygamer.com/1521308

One of my favorite TLE quotes:
Robert Cath: "Do you mind if I join you?" Anna Wolf: "That's odd. Is it customary in America to be so forward?" Robert: "In certain circles it's not unheard of." Anna: "I must have been moving in the wrong circles. I hope you find somewhere to sit." |

And this one...
August Schmidt: "Herr Whitney is well-known as a champion of freedom and justice - in countries other than his own." |

Robert Cath, seeing your location, I guess you understand serbian... Perhaps you'd be so kind to share some of the serbian dialogue in the game...? Bulgarian is not that different from serbian, but it's a bit hard to get all with all those people speaking so fast :/

Thanks for putting on the dialogue with Anna and Cath, I didn't get: "...it's not unheard of". I am making the list of dialogues from TLE. I know it sounds crazy, but I got to the first dialogue between Abbot and Cath, and I stopped there, because that dialogue goes very fast. If someone is interested... The dialogue that is especially funny is the one between Miloš, Vesna and Cath in their room. I laughed when I first heared it, because Vesna speaks so funny things. I could write out the translation... (and give it to you in the morning...-Tatiana) I also like the dialogue which can be overheared if you stand in front of Miloš's room, after the fight with him. So, just ask me which dialogue do you need?

It's a great idea to make transcripts of the dialogues. There are so many great lines in The Last Express. I don't remember Robert Cath's exact words, but when he talks to Milos about the Black Hand, he mumbles something like "...would that be the motto of Harvard..." "You talk a great deal for a man who knows so little..." The way she says it... aahhh... beautiful, dangerous Kahina! PS: I sure use the word great a lot. |
