Default Worst Adventure Game Endings

There have been a lot of bad game endings in the world of adventure. What are your least favorites?

1) Schzm: Mysterious Journey- Not only did the entire game suck, but it had the most boring ending ever. Endings are supposed to be exciting, but all you got from Schizm was a bad FMV actress poorly explain a story that never made sence.

2) Crystal Key- Okay so you launch the evil overlord into the sun, saving the universe and trillions of people. What do you get? A message saying "Congradulations! You've saved your people from tyrany and oppersion" That's it.

3) Lure of The Temptress- A really short action scene, a crappy prolouge and that's it.

I liked the ending of Schizm.
I got a good laugh at the ship moving its tail around "swimming" off into space.
Certainly not the worst ending in my book.

I personally have never truly hated an adventure game ending.

Why don't we have a favorite ending thread instead? I nominate Stupid Invaders.
I can still feel the wonderful feeling of relief I felt when I realized that the gaming hell was finally over... *sigh*
I gotta say, I've never been as happy with an adventure game ending as with that one.

I agree with the Gabriel Knight 3...

and i also hate games with really short endings...

We didn't have this thread before?

Ok, well Uru because you release a bunch of evil demon monkey things from a mountain at the end.

Broken Sword 3 had a crappy last puzzle, if you could call it that.

Myst had a crap ending

Not really, considering that it was an action sequence.

Talking of bad endings, how about that Fable game (adventure game, not XBox RPG), what the f*** was that all about?

The ending of CSI, with its promise of "bonus materials" was craptacular...but, then again, so was much of the game. Also, the ending to Dracula Resurrection, where it was a cliffhanger leading to the NEXT game, was a major letdown.

Myst and The Legend of Lotus Spring both have an ending video, but instead of the credits rolling you're simply dumped back to the gameworld to walk around until you get bored and quit.
I can't imagine why a game designer would program an ending like that if they thought about this.

Titanic: Adventure out of Time. But probably because I couldn't manage to get one of the good possible endings.

haha, yeah, it is fairly difficult to get the good ending. Even when you know what you're doing, you're racing against the clock to get everything done before the ship goes down. Its a shame that all the bad endings are so similar though, else it would've added a little more replay value.

It was different, that's for sure. And there was more than one ending.

My worst trauma is the exact opposite. There I was, in a cave near the sea, feeling proud of myself cause I'd found the treasure and I knew the whole story. Then, without a warning, the tide is coming in and there's water everywhere, all around me and... gulp... gasp.... help me cursor, where are you... drowning... darkness... ahhhh... hey, is that a light?... no, it's the credits.

Killing the player in a first-person game is a nasty trick of the worst kind, something any developer should be ashamed of.

Overseer has the worst ending.
Spoiler:
The main character, Tex Murphy and his girlfriend Chelsee are shot at the end.
Then, the final scene just says: To be continued....

Well, it was never continued. That was 7 years ago. Access Software sold out to Microsoft and that ended that.

BS2, I spent forever trying to figure out that stupid wild boar puzzle. So I quit playing for like a month, then I tried again and remember feeling very let down that it seemed to just end out of nowhere.

That's okay. I'll probably never finish Overseer anyway.

GK2's ending was a huge letdown for me. With such a great story, I was expecting an equally great (if not greater) ending, and that is not what I got. *sigh* I actually didn't mind the ending to GK3 - what I wanted to happen didn't happen, but at least it made me *feel* something...

ps For future reference: [ spoiler ] spoiler goes here [ /spoiler ] - but without the spaces between the bracket and the tag.
