Yeah, he dropped it until "Up" - which by the way is *way* darker!
EDIT: When thinking about it more, "So" is the only really happy album IMO...

Ok, I'll stop now, before the whole thread is moved into chit-chat.

I agree UP is a dark album, but not really in that sinister way that love about the older albums. The only song that fits that description is Darkness, which ironically is the only song I really don't like from Up

Up is a big improvement from Us and OVO imo though.

Has this guy made music for other games as well or is URU the only one?

I'm almost positive URU is his first game.

It doesn't really count as a game, but back in 1994 (the year after Myst; coincidence?) he released an interactive CD-ROM called Xplora.

If you really think so, you should listen to "Signal to Noise" again... THAT's what I call dark and sinister. But I'll stop now. Honest.

He did one more CD-ROM, called "Eve", I think. Never really tested any of them, although I remember trying a demo of Explora 1 waaay back...

Great song. Pretty use of hemiola, too.

The fact that I understood that makes me feel dorkier than I already generally feel.

I disagree, it's a dark song, but it isn't really sinister, It's more like dark and sad. Either way, it's my favourite song on the album :p
