Default Sam & Max 2 Museum: Please contribute!

In conjunction with our own Jake Rodkin and Samandmax.net, Adventure Gamers is working on a Sam & Max: Freelance Police museum. The purpose of this is not to bathe in our own misery--we do well enough at that as is--but rather to avoid people forgetting about one of the most important and sad events in the genre. Most adventure fans barely bat an eyelash today if you mention Secret of Vulcan Fury, or Warcraft Adventures, and I just don't want to see that happen with Sam & Max 2.

Our goal is to archive every single piece of Sam & Max 2-related stuff on the Internet forever. This is where we need help. We need every screenshot, every preview, every concept drawing, every news bit, every mention, every passing reference...absolutely anything and everything that holds the slightest bit of relevance to Sam & Max 2. You need only post links on this thread and we'll take it from there, and we hope to have the museum open for business by the end of the summer.

If you're not sure if a link is relevant or not, assume that it is. Moderators will be keeping an eye out for duplicate links, but please read the thread first to be sure your link isn't a duplicate.

We appreciate, in advance, your contribution to the Sam & Max 2 Museum!

Thanks a lot, Evan. Now my depression has returned.

As an ALMIGHTY mod I should delete this post right now. But you're lucky it's not that time of the month for me.

How about an autographed copy of my PC Gamer letter?

Mama always said I belonged in a museum.

Hmm, OK then... there are some magazine scans hosted here which are probably replicated elsewhere but maybe not:

The rest of the site is worth a look if you've somehow failed to notice it's existence, too. (Try the LEC Killer game!)

I'd offer to scan UK magazine articles, but that would be illegal :S...

Btw, I actually remember reading something about a Warcraft adventure. It was about an orc that had been raised by humans, or something, or had a human father/mother and an orcish mother/father. Something like that. It sounded cool...

Yeah, Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans, I once had a trailer of it on a PC Gamer Uk cd.

It looked very promising, it's sad that Blizzard cancelled it so long time ago...

It made me very sad I'd been looking forward to it for ages.

Oh man, if anyone actually has a copy of that trailer and can get it to me or give me a download link, I will absolutely be the happiest guy alive.

Well Evan, now you can be the happiest guy alive.

LotC Trailer: - 12.8 MB - Shockwave format

"BLACKMOOR, tonight you sleep in hell!"

Damn the game would've had great voice actors, Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime from the original, and best Transformers series), Clancy Brown (Lex Luthor in Superman the animated series) and the unknown dark voiced Tony Jay...

http://www.gamespot.com/features/pcg...rd/sounds.html

Here's some great voice samples for those who are interested.

Also, it's quite interesting how the game was actually labeled as Warcraft III at some point.

Imagine that, adventure games were popular enough at one time that some considered them fitting to continue the legacy of an RTS series, even as an official sequel. Of course, RTSs have some kinship with the adventure genre--the hybrid strategy/adventure game "Dune," which simulated the realistic passage of time (night and day cycles, armies moving across the planet map at a slow, constant pace) gave rise to the first ever RTS game, "Dune II." The team (Westwood) which made Dune II would then perfect the formula and give us "C&C2." An interesting cycle, if you think about it.

Good idea! And while you're at it, why not create another museum for the other dead projects like Vulcan Fury, Toonstruck 2, Full Throttle 2, etc.

I think I still have one old article of Vulcan Fury in an old mag somewhere in my bedroom...

It would probably be the only museum of dead adventures on the internet.
