Things you would give to an adventurer...

So imagine that there's someone going for an adventure or you are some important figure in a adventure game and the main character comes to you before he sets on for his journey.

What would 3 items would you give to him and why?

I would begin with a compass and tell him "So that you don't lose your way in life".

Maybe a zippo lighter too and then a hunting knife or....the typical legendary adventure fedora hat?

- Rope (You can never have enough rope in an adventure game.)
- Passport (An internationally recognised photo I.D. and the ability to travel across many lands. Always important.)
- Lock pick (Because in an adventure you're always going to have to USE KEY ON DOOR. This cuts out the middle man!)

Lead on adventurer, your quest awaits!

Yes but a lockpick can only do one thing. Better to have newspaper & pencil which can not only open any lock, but you can read and write! :D

if he was Larry's style i would him a Dozen prophylactics ,some money to play in a Casino and a lottery Ticket.

if he was a Roger Wilco's i would just give him a Broom and tell to go sweep the floors.

I would give him a stone, a piece of string and a paperclip. If he is a real adventurer, it would be enough to solve any puzzle!

Dehydrated water. Very important to have some of that handy when you're thirsty.

1 - Extra large pockets for carrying a multitude of inventory items.
2 - A pair of sturdy shoes for all the to-ing and fro-ing he/she will have to do (or better yet, a pocket-size teleporter).
3 - A potion that bestows patience and persistence for solving difficult puzzles, to be taken as needed.

And of course an instant ladder! Easy to carry, light and small. Just add water when you need a ladder and voilÃ*!

1. A devious nature
2. A warped imagination
3. A big stick

gray pierce 05-07-2012 02:19 AM

3. A guide on how to go about adventuring
2. A pair of lenses that makes it instantly recognisable which items in a room are of interest
3. A sidekick to provide useful hints on how to procede throughout the journey

tsampikos 05-07-2012 02:42 AM

I would give him the all time classic adventure games item: A crowbar.

Apart from that a compass and a a swiss knife like tool should serve him good.

Dara100 05-07-2012 06:23 AM

If he were off to play a Myst game, I would just tell him to use:

His open eyes
Sharp hearing and
Keen mind

That's all a true adventurer really needs.

SamuelGordon 05-07-2012 06:46 AM

-Cyanide pill when he/she encounters a game breaking bug
-Journal to save your progress
-A license to kill
