The concept sounds great, and I didn't play the original, so I'm backing this.

Also:

I'm happy that they take the 3D perspective serious, and don't just make it a gimmick (of course we'll have to wait and see if that's in fact the case, but I'm optimistic).

I still don't think this will make it as much as I'd like to see it happen. Kickstarter may have reached its limit for adventure gamers and their precarious wallets.
