Default Games with long night sequences

Hi all,
I'm looking for some adventure games with long nighttime sequences in them (preferably with just a few characters to interact with, and some moody music). I really like the atmosphere and especially enjoy it when playing at night (almost always).

An obvious example is The Secret of Monkey Island, especially the part in the woods. Other examples include King's Quest II: Romancing the Stones (night part starts when looking for the third stone), Alter Ego (visit to the cemetery and so on), the Blackwell games and The Moment of Silence (going to the park, etc). Any suggestions?

Discworld Noir, obviously.

A Vampyre Story is also almost entirely taking place in a nighttime.

And if you don't mind RPG elements, Quest for Glory 5 has a day/night cycle:

Discworld Noir is a wonderful game, but it has the long conversations with lots of people that the OP doesn't want. If you're into 1st-person games I'd recommend Barrow Hill, Amber, Dark Fall.

Yeah, well Monkey Island and King's Quest are not the champions of silence, as well

About half of Shadow of the Comet takes place at night. It has everything - sleepy village, scary woods, cemetery, lighthouse... Very atmospheric. I would also recommend Quest for Glory IV for the same reasons.

Would the Delaware St John and Last Half of Darkness series qualify?

Gabe: An Amiga adventure I didn't know of? That's got to be great! Thanks a lot

diego: Thanks a TON for the suggestions. I've never played any of them, and no I don't mind RPG elements. Thanks!

Fien: Uuh I loved The Dark Fall (Journal). Actually I had Amber and Barrow Hill on my radar, gonna have to change their priority then!

Arial Type: MY GOD if it doesn't look awesome. I simply MUST get hold of the PC98 version of it. Also, Quest for Glory is a series I'm going to explore fully soon

GreyFuss: I believe so! I already own the first two volumes of Delaware St. John (still have to play them though), and Last Half of Darkness also looks great. Oh damn so many things to play! Thanks a lot!

You should probably take a look at scratches too. Atmosphere is what the game does best, and theres some excellent scenes where you wake up in the middle of the night.

I believe Barrow Hill would certainly fit your criteria

And almost all of Still Life 2, too. Shudder... But, please, if you haven't been burned yet, don't go there!

Downfall takes place entirely at night - a stormy one to be exact - although the horror theme might not be what you're looking for? If I recall correctly, Monkey Island: The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood takes place at night too - it's quite nice revisiting the earlier locations from previous chapters and seeing them in a new light, so to speak!

TerminusEst: Oh well, I've already purchased it under the influence of pure gog.com madness, I have but to play it!

MartyMcFly: Correct, I'm not necessarily looking for horror stuff; in fact, perhaps I'd prefer non-horror games so that I can enjoy the mood and not shit my pants in the process You're right, Episode 4 of ToMI catches what I mean perfectly! Any further suggestion, MartyMcFly?
