on the subject of concept arts:
http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg694...2.jpg&res=crop http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg23/...6.jpg&res=crop http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg833...e.jpg&res=crop these are mock-ups of Tales of MI concept arts, trying to convey the "Curse" art style. Apart from the fact that we know Telltale is making 3D games, the "concept arts", as they are, could easily fit in the final game if it was going to be 2D instead of 3D - it would "only" take additional animation. So, i see nothing wrong in saying - i'd wish the final game looked like that piece of concept art! Moebius art is crisp and nice, and mysterious looking. But i see a bit of a trend with newer 2D games (like MI Special Editions) - in lack of better words - they're somehow "flashy". Like parts of it, colors mainly, were done with software brushes instead of a hand-painting. Like, they're almost "too clear" or perfect. That's why i thought original Monkey Island art, even though it couldn't match the resolution of the SE still had that bit of an artistic impression edge. But even if Moebius looked like this, it wouldn't be bad, and i can't wait to see more of it. |

Live GK playthrough starts in just over half an hour! Here's the link: http://www.twitch.tv/laurakat07

Fun stuff. Is there a way to see how much has been donated?
|
Click over to the info tab under the video. Last time I looked it was like $500.
|
pretttty cool to think in just 1 month we'l already have our first csg product, even if it is a kids ebook :D
|
BTW, the Gabriel Knight marathon is far from over and still going strong! So far it's reached the 33 hour mark! It's in the middle of GK3 right now: http://www.twitch.tv/laurakat07
|
Wow, just checked it out for the first time. Have they changed players in the middle, I hope so :D. GK3 on the end side now, the trials still left.

I can't wait for the Skype interview with Jane, Dean and Peter! Wow. To think, it's been 16-17 years since they all last saw and spoke to each other...
Well, they might have spoken to each other during that time, but still... |
It is over. The End screen of GK3 with very tired people right now chatting ;) (Or at least one extremely tired one)
It was a lot of fun though! Surprisingly much, actually. Even without joining the chat - which I was very close to doing a couple of times. The registration is always a threshold for me though. Raised about 1000$, so 500 to Kickstarter. Apparently it takes about 42 hours to finnish all the GK games in one go :P 23,5 hours for GK1+2 and 18,5 for GK3... |
Man, that was exhausting just watching it!
Lot of fun, though. Raised about 500 dollars though for the campaign (and 500 for the charity). |
I was in and out on the whole playthrough. It was lots of fun!
Jane's Reddit AMA is going to be today at 3:00pm Eastern (about three hours from now). Now's your chance to ask her (and Robert) any question that's on your mind! |
|
I've never heard of (and certainly not used) Reddit before, and I have to say - that's one confusing page!
I think I might have to wait for the official abridgement :P (Edit): Well, luckily there was already one of Jane's answers so far :) Hope there are more coming along as it progresses. |

Anyway, I think Jane and Robert did a good job keeping up with the questions in spite of this! And some interesting answers there, too. |
Reddit is ugly and chaotic at first, but once you use it for awhile it becomes very intuitive and streamlined. It's a great hub for all sorts of news, activity, and discussion on the web. But for certain major subreddits it is a very hivemind-ish place.
There's an adventure gaming subreddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/adventuregames/ |
We broke 350k, yay :D
|
The pledging amount has come to a screeching halt, unfortunately (although the amount of backers keeps ticking along, strangely enough)
Hopefully it's the calm before the storm! Fingers crossed! (I want 400,000! The 450,000's a bit out of range, but that 400,000 IS gettable!) |
