Adventure Game Puzzles... uh, Puzzles!

I will describe a puzzle in an adventure and someone would try to figure it out.

Ok Here is a very easy one:-
I am Lost ,there are so many caves here ,dont know which one should i enter, i also got that sign post that when i put it into earth it points to one of the caves i drive through but nothing happens! I just get back where i started ... so to solve this puzzle
Spoiler:
i need to Watch every time where the sign post is pointing, Repeat that; pick it up,put it into the ground, go in that direction and (again) put it , go into the direction.......etc
until the secret cave opens.

TimovieMan 03-10-2012 06:16 AM

Grim Fandango!

Adventurere No.1 03-10-2012 06:24 AM

that was too easy :D ... maybe you can stump me MovieMan

TimovieMan 03-10-2012 07:45 AM

Another easy one (if you've played it):

You're on an investigation and you need some photos that a little girl took with her camera.
In exchange for her camera, the girl wants you to fix the flat tire of her bike.
That is done by
Spoiler:
taking the flat tube, using an air pump to inflate the tube, put the inflated tube in a bucket of water to locate the leak, use a rubber glove with glue on the leak to get a patched tube
.

Adventurere No.1 03-10-2012 08:07 AM

There was A spitting contest where you need to get use of the wind blowing from behind you, to win ?

Spoiler:
notice that small red flapping from time to time because of wind blows, and there.... you spit !

Commodore 03-11-2012 11:30 AM

Ok, here's an easy one - to complete this puzzle you need to microwave a hamster.

Adventurere No.1 03-11-2012 11:32 AM

i see nobody is interested in this?... well i would say "YAAAY".. i ve been always wishing for something like this, some people quizzing my knowledge of Adventure Games by hinting to it with some puzzle!
anyway.here is another one (without any spoilers):-

you are in the future and need this video cable from a computer freak but he wants something in return "something i would like,a bonus" he says.

i cant say more, it is very easy anyways :D

TimovieMan 03-12-2012 09:28 AM

There's two simultaneous ones running.

Commodore's is from Day of the Tentacle (although you could microwave that hamster in Maniac Mansion as well).

Don't know Adventurere No. 1's, though. Must be of a game I haven't played yet...

Whoever gets that last one gets to post... :D

Jon_wachter 03-12-2012 09:32 AM

It's a cracker for sure! Impossible to play with my original game disc in Windows 7 tho', thanks to the wonders of Starforce. :frown:

In any case, here's another puzzle to be going on with - made me want to tear my hair out at the time, incidentally...

Beautiful game, but a truly aggravating sound puzzle. You are faced with six wooden posts in a large circle, each with a hole in the middle. The hole in question may be uncovered or covered by a leaf to affect the sound produced as the wind rushes through.

I have absolutely no recollection of that puzzle, and I've played and finished that game...

But then, it wasn't really all that memorable...

Funny I remember the puzzle, but I can't remember having played the game. But then I find it on the shelf among my games, so I guess I have played it.
Didn't change my life, that's for sure. :D

Correct! A few lousy puzzles and pathfinding issues aside, I actually really enjoyed the game - it had its charm, and was certainly attractive and colourful to look at. Lovely musical score too. :)

Harleyhog 03-16-2012 08:02 AM

Strapping a stick of dynamite to a poor defenceless rodent, who's only crime was a weakness for baked beans :9

there is a similar puzzle in a game called Scribblennauts! ,it is an emergent puzzle video game on Nintendo DS

WitchOfDoubt 03-17-2012 10:22 PM

Oooh oooh I've got one.

There's a door with an old-fashioned keyhole. You can't open it, but the key's definitely on the other side of the lock. There is a gap under the door. You have a sheet of paper, or possibly a newspaper. and a long, thin object of some kind.

WHICH GAME IS IT????

Harleyhog 03-18-2012 01:52 AM

I seem to remember Phantasmagoria using the keyhole and paper.

skeeter_93 03-18-2012 02:55 AM

Scratches had one...

Adventurere No.1 03-18-2012 04:41 AM

same Cliche with Post Mortem ....
also another one (Cliche) like using a pencil or a piece of coal on a paper to reveal what is written on it ,was repeated in so many games ..Black Mirror 1 for instance
