I enjoyed Undercover: Operation Wintersun too quite a bit.
Nibiru - Age Of Secrets was mixed bag though.
I agree that Gemini Rue is overrated.
i should visit Stupid Invaders again. I remember i had a lot of fun playing it but not much more.
Perry Rhodan is in my spring-break plans.

Thanks for mentioning Dirty Split, Mad Manny! I had never heard of it before but it looks interesting. Download just finished.

  • Nightlong: Union City Conspiracy
  • Orion Conspiracy

  • Tony Tough And The Night Of Roasted Moths
  • Undercover: Operation Wintersun
"Return of the Phantom"! Aside from the labyrinth puzzle, I absolutely loved that game --truly an underrated classic.

However, I think most AGers tend to know what Tony Tough 1 is -- and so many of them seem to love it. I just wish they'd translate the sequel into English already and release the damn thing in the states!

I agree. Now Tony Tough 2 is really underrated (well, for that reason). It is a great game as far as I remember, better and funnier than the original one.

With its mid-90s release date, the game predates even the first version of this site. We aim to keep up with all modern releases but catching up on older releases means someone tracking down a copy and getting it to run first.

If you've got a copy and know how to get it to run on a modern machine then by all means let us know.

It may be nostalgia talking but I loved Blue Force when I played it in the 90s, a police game by Jim Walls. It might not be as great as the best Police Quest games but I remember being gripped by it and thought the graphics were good at the time. Surprised it hasn't been reviewed on this site.

We need some high quality and realistic police adventure games again.

Jim Walls i remember how much i hated Police Quest4 and the Other Swat episodes they made afterward, they were like just a cheap imitations of Jim Walls's

Mad Manny, thanks again for Dirty Split! Finished it, a great adventure!

Speaking of other underrated adventures - imho Hector: Badge of Carnage wasn't praised enough. I really loved it.
Also Clover: A Curious Tale was really really good, i loved the conspiracy story set to medieval times, art style, music.

I dont know about the legalization of ScummVm which i mentioned before stepurhan, so he is a link for

The legal difficulties arise from the games themselves being distributed. Installers such as these (which require you to have the game to work) are fine. I believe the same goes for ScummVM, which is simply a program that provides a virtual machine environment that allows you to run older games.

Finding a legal copy of such an old game is the hard part. The other consideration is, if a game is that hard to get hold of, a positive review now is just going to frustrate people. Not all older stuff is classic though. I did this review of a pre-site game in 2008 and it was definitely not a case of a cruelly neglected masterpiece.
