Kindle Fire Games
I see postings regarding IPod games. Are there any Kindle Fire, stoked by Android, games on the horizon?

Maybe I should have titled the post "Kindle Fire Games". Surely there must be some developers thinking about creating adventure, or at least casual games for the Kindle Fire.

Almost all can, but unless they come from the App Store at Amazon, they require some force feeding. There's an article on how to do it at PCMag.com.

I don't think there are many adventures out for Android. The Secret of Grisly Manor is one that I enjoyed playing on my iPod touch, but it's a very short game and not particularly challenging. Also Vera Blanc is adventure-like, it's sort of an interactive comic book. Both are available on Amazon, so I assume they'll work on the Kindle Fire.
Other than that, I don't know of any. |

I hope to hear of some as I'm planning on getting one of these. Maybe we can start a list that people can add to?

Kindle Fire will still ultimately be a e-reader and utilize the Tablet apps from the Android Amazon App to get its app. I really doubt you'll see many games, especially since Fire can run android apps. People will either go Android or iOS.

You should be able to put ScummVM on it and play old LucasArts games, Broken Sword (although I believe the DC is coming to android), Simon the Sorcerer, Sierra games, and more. A full list of compatible games is here. You'll need to find your own copies of those games on ebay and wherever else they're sold. GOG.com, Steam, and some other websites have some of them available for download.
I doubt ScummVM is in the Amazon market, but if you've installed the regular Android Market the ScummVM app is available there. You can also download it from here and sideload it. |
